• Back from injured list
The Diamondbacks reinstated Thomas (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Thomas suffered a left hamstring strain during the fourth game of the season, and multiple setbacks have contributed to his three-month absence. Now, after playing in 10 rehab games between the Arizona Complex League and Triple-A, the 24-year-old outfielder has been cleared to return to the big-league roster. It's possible the D-backs have him sit occasionally as he gets used to facing MLB pitchers again, but he'll almost certainly reclaim his role as Arizona's primary center fielder. Blaze Alexander was optioned to Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:31 pm
  • Garrett Mitchell batting fifth on Tuesday night
Garrett Mitchell is in center field and batting fifth on Tuesday against the Rockies.

Advice: Mitchell came off the bench on Monday to reach base safely in two of his three plate appearances in his season debut. The 25-year-old outfielder still has some serious contact issues to address, but there’s definitely some power/speed combo intrigue here, if he manages to somewhat put it all together at the highest level. The fact that he’s missed so much time over the last few years due to injuries certainly amplifies the risk here. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:49 pm
  • Garrett Mitchell reaches twice in 2024 debut
Garrett Mitchell singled and walked in three plate appearances off the bench in his season debut Monday against the Rockies.

Advice: The single was hit 108 mph, so this was definitely a nice start for Mitchell. It’ll take consistent playing time to make him a factor in mixed leagues, so he’s probably not an option right now. He offers plenty of upside, though. Rotoworld Monday, 9:19 pm
  • Not in lineup versus southpaw
Mitchell is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest in Colorado.

Advice: Mitchell was activated from the 60-day injured list earlier Monday but will begin his first game back on the bench. It's not a surprise, as the Rockies are starting lefty Austin Gomber, and most of the playing time for the left-handed hitting Mitchell figures to come versus righties. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:51 pm
  • Brewers officially activate Garrett Mitchell
Brewers activated OF Garrett Mitchell (finger) from the 60-day IL.

Advice: Mitchell was set to be the Brewers’ starting center fielder before fracturing a finger in spring training. In 12 games at Triple-A during his rehab stint, he hit .318 with four home runs and four steals. He has the power/speed to produce solid fantasy results while hitting in a good lineup in a good home park. He should be added in most formats. Tyler Black was sent down in a corresponding move. • Activated from 60-day IL
The Brewers activated Mitchell (finger) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Mitchell will be making his season debut once he gets into a game after missing the first three months of the season with a fractured finger. He slashed .318/.404/.636 with four home runs and four stolen bases over 12 rehab games with Triple-A Nashville. The 25-year-old will join a crowded Milwaukee outfield that already features Christian Yelich, Blake Perkins, Sal Frelick and Jackson Chourio. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:43 am
  • Hits late homer Sunday
Adell went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Tigers on Sunday.

Advice: The Angels were down 7-1 heading into the ninth frame before mounting a rally that fell just short. Adell brought the team to within one run with his two-out, two-run blast in the inning. The long ball snapped a 15-game homerless drought for the outfielder, and he had struggled mightily during that stretch, slashing .111/.180/.156. Despite the recent cold stretch, Adell has hung onto a near-everyday role, as he's started in right field in six of the Angels' past seven games. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:26 am

  • At least one more rehab game
Thomas (hamstring) will remain with Triple-A Reno and play another game Tuesday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After playing Tuesday, the team will reassess whether Thomas is ready to be activated. He sustained the injury during the fourth game of the season and has missed three months because of it. Thomas was originally anticipated to return in early May, but his rehab was paused twice since then. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:55 am
  • Brewers activating Mitchell, demoting Black
The Brewers will activate Garrett Mitchell and send down Tyler Black prior to Monday’s game in Colorado.

Advice: It seemed like Black would get more of a look this time around, but after four games in which he collected three hits and three walks, the Brewers glued him to the bench for the entire last week. Now they’ll be creating a logjam in the outfield by activating Mitchell while keeping Sal Frelick and Blake Perkins around. Jackson Chourio has turned into a fixture in right, so the Brewers will be choosing between Mitchell, Frelick, Perkins and Jake Bauers for two lineup spots each day. That’s not a great fantasy value situation for Mitchell, though his upside is very much present. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:35 pm
