  • Toglia hits grand slam as Rockies clobber Pirates
Michael Toglia hit a grand slam in a blowout victory for the Rockies over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Toglia turned a comfortable lead of 11-4 into a certified blowout with his grand slam off Dennis Santana. It’s the second time he’s cleared the bases and made it home on the same play in 2024, but the other one was a Little League slam against the Cardinals. Toglia has been awful thus far in his MLB career, and isn’t likely to have too many efforts like this even playing his home games in Colorado. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago

  • Strong showing in win
Rojas went 2-for-3 with a home run, two walks, three RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Rojas went 2-for-27 (.074) over his previous 10 games before breaking out of the slump in a big way. He hit a solo shot in the seventh inning and a two-run single in the eighth, providing the Mariners with enough of a cushion to survive the Rangers' late comeback. The homer was Rojas' first since April 28 and his fourth of the season to go with 15 RBI, 26 runs scored, six stolen bases and a .263/.336/.395 slash line over 61 contests. He continues to play in a strong-side platoon role at third base. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago

  • Hunter Goodman homers twice, drives in five
Hunter Goodman homered twice, picked up four hits and drove in five runs in a 16-4 shellacking of the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Goodman also scored three runs in a monster game for the 24-year-old. There haven’t been many for the infielder/backstop, but he showed off his impressive raw power with a pair of homers to center; one a solo shot and the other a two-run blast. Even with the big effort Goodman is only hitting .203/.247/.449, but that pop and his friendly home confines certainly make him a name to keep an eye on. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

  • Ty Blach holds Pirates to two runs in victory
Ty Blach held the Pirates to a pair of runs in 5 2/3 innings in a victory over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Blach gave up seven hits and issued one walk with five strikeouts. The veteran southpaw continues to give up plenty of baserunners — 25 hits allowed over his last three starts — but he was able to get out of jams for the most part to get his third win of the season. Blach is obviously not a streaming option for his next start scheduled against the Dodgers. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

  • Gavin Lux drives home two in loss to Royals
Gavin Lux drove in two runs in a loss Saturday to the Dodgers.

Advice: Lux was responsible for the only runs of the game for the Dodgers with a two-run single off Seth Lugo in the fourth. The 26-year-old still is scuffling with a slash of .215/.266/.285 over 186 at-bats. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago

  • Swats homer Saturday
McCormick went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 13-5 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: McCormick didn't start Saturday against right-hander Jack Flaherty. McCormick was still able to make an impact in the lopsided loss with a homer in the seventh inning after replacing Yordan Alvarez in left field. The long ball was McCormick's first of the season, though he's managed three extra-base hits over his last five contests. The 29-year-old is slashing .209/.273/.291 with 12 RBI, 10 runs scored and three stolen bases over 121 plate appearances, and he's unlikely to make a consistent impact while occupying a short-side platoon role. • Pummeled early in loss
Arrighetti (3-6) allowed seven runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 1.1 innings to take the loss versus the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: Arrighetti was moved up a day when Justin Verlander (neck) was scratched from his scheduled start. The result was disastrous for the Astros, as Arrighetti gave up three home runs in his shortest outing of the season, though the Astros came into Saturday with a well-rested bullpen. The rookie right-hander has not made a good impression in the majors this year with a 6.37 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 63:31 K:BB over 53.2 innings through 12 starts. With the Astros' rotation already thin, it's likely Arrighetti sticks around for his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to be a tough home matchup versus the Orioles. • Homers, scores thrice in win
Kelly went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Saturday's 13-5 win over the Astros.

Advice: Kelly has logged three multi-hit efforts over six games in June, going 7-for-22 (.318) this month. The homer was his first since May 26. The veteran catcher is slashing .246/.326/.364 with three homers, 15 RBI, 12 runs scored, three doubles and a triple over 51 contests this season. Kelly and Jake Rogers continue to see a fairly even split of playing time behind the plate, though Kelly has had the stronger bat in 2024. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago
