• Goes yard again
Kwan went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Kwan saw a 14-game hitting streak end Friday with an 0-for-4 performance, but he rebounded nicely Saturday. The homer was his third in June, and he's added six doubles, 10 RBI and 16 runs scored this month. The outfielder has matched his career high with six long balls, and with over half of the season to go, he has a reasonable chance at double digits. He's slashing a fantastic .390/.449/.564 with 22 RBI, 45 runs scored, three stolen bases, 12 doubles and two triples over 48 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:05 pm

  • Strikes out 10 in win
Taillon (4-3) earned the win against the Mets on Saturday, allowing one run on six hits and no walks with 10 strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Taillon was excellent Saturday, with a solo home run by Francisco Alvarez in the fifth inning being his only blemish. He generated an impressive 15 swinging strikes on 93 pitches and notched a season-high 10 punchouts. Taillon has logged three consecutive quality starts and now owns a 2.90 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 53:16 K:BB over 68.1 innings this season. The 32-year-old lines up for a start against the Giants next week. • David Bednar (side) was unavailable on Saturday
Pirates’ manager Derek Shelton told reporters after Saturday’s victory that David Bednar was unavailable due to tightness in his left side.

Advice: It was surprising to see Aroldis Chapman close out a one-run victory for the Pirates against the Rays instead of Bednar, and now we know why. Shelton noted that he doesn’t believe the injury is anything serious, but Bednar’s status should be monitored over the coming days. Those speculating on saves in daily leagues could try to catch lightning in a bottle with Chapman. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:27 pm

  • Wasn't available Saturday
Bednar was unavailable for Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays due to left side tightness, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Bednar missed out on a save chance Saturday as Aroldis Chapman stepped up in the ninth to close out the win. Bednar's absence was planned after he felt the tightness during his pregame throwing program, but the injury isn't considered to be serious at this point. If he ends up missing more than just Saturday's game, expect Chapman to continue to see save chances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:18 pm

  • Kwan has two hits, home run in win Saturday
Steven Kwan went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Is there anything Kwan can’t do? The home run was his sixth of the year and second in his last four games. After going 0-for-4 on Friday to snap his 14-game hitting streak, he bounced back with another two hits. Kwan has been one of the best hitters in the league. He’s hitting .390 with a 1.013 OPS on the season now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:12 pm

  • Suffers left elbow bruise
Sosa was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning of Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks and has a left elbow contusion, Brooke Destra of NBCSPhilly reports.

Advice: Sosa was removed from the game after the HPB and his X-rays returned negative. Though he appears to have avoided a serious injury, Sosa should still be considered day-to-day. He went 0-for-1 with a run scored prior to exiting. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:25 pm

  • Yu Darvish (groin) expected to return on Tuesday
Yu Darvish (groin) is expected to rejoin the Padres’ rotation on Tuesday.

Advice: The 37-year-old right-hander made it through a minor league rehab start at High-A Fort Wayne without any issues on Wednesday and will square off with the Nationals at home on Tuesday night. Before landing on the injured list in late May with a strained groin, Darvish had posted a 3.20 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 53/15 K/BB ratio over 56 1/3 innings through his first 11 starts on the season. • Expected to start Tuesday
Darvish (groin) is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Nationals, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Darvish is set to make his first start since May 29 after an IL stint due to left groin soreness. The 37-year-old made a minor-league rehab start at High-A on Wednesday but got up to only 49 pitches and will likely be under some sort of pitch restriction against the Nationals. Across 11 starts, Darvish owns a 3.20 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP with 53 strikeouts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:49 pm

  • Jameson Taillon fans 10 in dominant win over Mets
Jameson Taillon recorded 10 strikeouts and allowed one run over six innings on Saturday in a win over the Mets.

Advice: Taillon was staked to a five-run cushion by the outset of the second inning and was able to cruise to his fourth victory of the season, setting a new season-high in the strikeout department in the process. A fifth-inning solo shot by Mets emerging star Francisco Alvarez was the lone blemish over six stellar frames as he induced 15 swinging strikes and finished with a robust 34 percent CSW. The 32-year-old righty has allowed two earned runs or fewer, while also completing six innings, in each of his las three starts dating back to June 11. He’ll bring a solid 2.90 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 53/16 K/BB ratio across 68 1/3 innings (12 starts) into a road tilt on Thursday against the Giants at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park.
