• Fans eight in no-decision
Parker did not factor into the decision in a loss to the Rockies on Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over six innings while striking out eight.

Advice: All four runs against Parker came over the first three innings, topped off by a three-run blast from Brendan Rodgers. However, the right-hander would go on to finish strong, striking out the side in the sixth and fanning six of the final 12 batters he faced on the night. Parker matched his season high with eight strikeouts in the contest and he's now gone at least six innings in three of his last four starts, posting a 15:5 K:BB over that stretch. • Mitchell Parker whiffs eight in no-decision
Mitchell Parker allowed four runs over six innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Rockies.

Advice: The positive news here is that Parker notched eight strikeouts and managed to somewhat survive Coors Field’s high-octane offensive environment. He gave up six hits, including a three-run homer to Brendan Rodgers, which accounted for most of the damage against him in this one. He’s been a nice waiver wire addition for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues and will bring a respectable 3.30 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 58/17 K/BB ratio across 73 2/3 innings (13 starts) into a road tilt on Friday against the Rays. • Falters against Yankees
Morton (4-4) allowed five runs on five hits and five walks while striking out four over 5.2 innings to take the loss versus the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Morton matched his season high with the five walks, something he has done three times this year. He's also given up five or more runs in three of his last five outings. The 40-year-old has done a good job of eating innings, but the results have been mediocre -- he's at a 4.20 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 80:35 K:BB over 79.1 innings through 14 starts. Morton is projected to make his next start on the road versus the White Sox in a makeup game for a rainout from April 3. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:53 pm
  • Charlie Morton gives up five runs in loss to Yanks
Charlie Morton struggled in a losing effort against the Yankees on Saturday night, giving up five runs on five hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 40-year-old hurler also issued five free passes on the night while striking out four opposing batters. Morton served up a two-run homer to Aaron Judge in the opening inning, then the Yankees scratched out single runs in the third and fourth innings before chasing Morton while scoring a run in the sixth. Morton generated 11 swings and misses on 97 pitches on the night — nine of them on his curveball — while posting a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll attempt to bounce back and improve upon his 4.20 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and an 80/35 K/BB ratio (79 1/3 innings) when he squares off against the White Sox in Chicago on Thursday. • Strikes out 10 in win
Taillon (4-3) earned the win against the Mets on Saturday, allowing one run on six hits and no walks with 10 strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Taillon was excellent Saturday, with a solo home run by Francisco Alvarez in the fifth inning being his only blemish. He generated an impressive 15 swinging strikes on 93 pitches and notched a season-high 10 punchouts. Taillon has logged three consecutive quality starts and now owns a 2.90 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 53:16 K:BB over 68.1 innings this season. The 32-year-old lines up for a start against the Giants next week. • Yu Darvish (groin) expected to return on Tuesday
Yu Darvish (groin) is expected to rejoin the Padres’ rotation on Tuesday.

Advice: The 37-year-old right-hander made it through a minor league rehab start at High-A Fort Wayne without any issues on Wednesday and will square off with the Nationals at home on Tuesday night. Before landing on the injured list in late May with a strained groin, Darvish had posted a 3.20 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 53/15 K/BB ratio over 56 1/3 innings through his first 11 starts on the season. • Expected to start Tuesday
Darvish (groin) is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Nationals, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Darvish is set to make his first start since May 29 after an IL stint due to left groin soreness. The 37-year-old made a minor-league rehab start at High-A on Wednesday but got up to only 49 pitches and will likely be under some sort of pitch restriction against the Nationals. Across 11 starts, Darvish owns a 3.20 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP with 53 strikeouts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:49 pm

  • Jameson Taillon fans 10 in dominant win over Mets
Jameson Taillon recorded 10 strikeouts and allowed one run over six innings on Saturday in a win over the Mets.

Advice: Taillon was staked to a five-run cushion by the outset of the second inning and was able to cruise to his fourth victory of the season, setting a new season-high in the strikeout department in the process. A fifth-inning solo shot by Mets emerging star Francisco Alvarez was the lone blemish over six stellar frames as he induced 15 swinging strikes and finished with a robust 34 percent CSW. The 32-year-old righty has allowed two earned runs or fewer, while also completing six innings, in each of his las three starts dating back to June 11. He’ll bring a solid 2.90 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 53/16 K/BB ratio across 68 1/3 innings (12 starts) into a road tilt on Thursday against the Giants at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park. • Next start will be in majors
Darvish (groin) is expected to come off the injured list to make his next start with San Diego, per MLB.com.

Advice: Darvish struggled in a minor-league rehab start with High-A Fort Wayne on Wednesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out three batters over 3.1 innings. He threw only 49 pitches in that outing, but the Padres nonetheless appear intent on moving him back into the rotation for his next appearance. It hasn't yet been announced when Darvish will make that start, but given the typical time between outings, it's logical to expect Monday or Tuesday versus Washington to be the target date.
