• Takes third loss
Suarez (10-3) allowed five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings to take the loss versus Atlanta on Saturday.

Advice: Only three Atlanta batters got hits in the contest, but they each had two against Suarez. Ozzie Albies and Marcell Ozuna each homered and combined to drive in all five runs. Suarez has allowed 15 runs (13 earned) across 15.2 innings over his last three starts, accounting for three of the four times he's given up at least four runs this year. He's at a 2.58 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 106:23 K:BB through 108 innings over 18 starts. Suarez will look to end his early-summer swoon in a favorable home start versus the Athletics next week. • Homers again Saturday
Langeliers went 2-for-6 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and an additional run in a 19-8 victory versus the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: Langeliers piled on to a decimation of Baltimore's pitching with a two-run shot to left field in the third inning that gave gave Oakland a 12-0 lead. The backstop had previously notched an RBI single in the second frame. Langeliers has gone deep in two straight contests and in four of his past 10. He leads MLB catchers with 17 long balls on the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:00 pm

  • Homers in win over Giants
Kwan went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Giants.

Advice: Kwan has gone deep in two of his last three games, and he's hit five homers over his last 17 contests while batting .294 (20-for-68) in that span. While he's cooled off from flirting with a .400 batting average in mid-to-late June, he continues to impress with his consistency at the plate. The outfielder has a .365/.421/.542 slash line for the year while adding nine homers, 27 RBI, 52 runs scored and four stolen bases over 61 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:54 pm

  • Ranger Suárez struggles in loss to Braves Saturday
Ranger Suárez had his second straight rough outing in Saturday’s loss to the Braves, surrendering five runs on six hits over his five innings of work.

Advice: The 28-year-old southpaw racked up seven strikeouts on the night while issuing a pair of free passes. Most of the damage done against him came via the long ball, with Marcell Ozuna clubbing a two-run homer to cap off a three-run first inning and Ozzie Albies smacking a two-run homer in the fifth. Suárez got 13 swings and misses on 91 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 27 percent. This was the third straight rough start for Suárez who has seen his impeccable 1.75 ERA swell to 2.58. He’ll look to get back on track and finish the first half strong when he takes on the Athletics at home on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:24 pm

Anderson (8-8) earned the win over the Cubs on Saturday, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out 10 over eight scoreless innings.

Advice: Anderson was magnificent, generating an eye-popping 22 swinging strikes and a season-high 10 punchouts. He especially leaned on his changeup, throwing it 30 times and accumulating 11 whiffs. The southpaw responded from allowing a season-high six earned runs Sunday with his best outing of the year. • Homers, two hits in win
Verdugo went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a 14-4 win over the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Verdugo hit a two-run home run in the third inning and then singled and scored in the fifth. He hit just .219 with one homer in June but has registered two multi-hit efforts in his past three games and continues to hit in the middle of the Yankees lineup. The outfielder's current .246 average is well below his .277 career mark, but he has contributed 10 home runs, 45 RBI and 42 runs scored across 364 plate appearances in 2024. • Padres place Yu Darvish on restricted list
Padres placed RHP Yu Darvish on the restricted list.

Advice: Padres’ manager Mike Shildt told reporters on Saturday that Darvish is dealing with a personal matter involving his family but wouldn’t elaborate. It’s not clear how long he’ll be away from the team for. The 37-year-old hurler is battling elbow inflammation in addition to his strained groin. Once he’s back with the club and ready physically, he’s likely to need at least a couple of rehab starts before he’s ready to return to action. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:29 pm

  • Shea Langeliers homers, plates three in rout
Shea Langeliers homered and drove in three runs in a blowout win over the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: Langeliers hit a two-run blast in the third inning to make it a 12-0 game. You’re not reading that wrong. The backstop also drove in one of the Athletics’ 19 runs — again, not a typo — with a single in the second. Langeliers has homered 17 times while driving in 45 runs in the first half of the 2024 campaign. Not too shabby. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:13 pm

  • Placed on restricted list
The Padres placed Darvish (elbow) on the restricted list Saturday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Darvish has been on the injured list since the beginning of June due to a groin strain and right elbow inflammation, but he will now move to the restricted list as he deals with a personal matter. The Padres didn't provide any information regarding how long the 37-year-old might be away from the team. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:05 pm
