• Tyler Black on bench for third straight day
Tyler Black is on the bench for a third straight game Wednesday against the Rangers.

Advice: It was expected that Black would sit versus a lefty last night, but two of these three games have been against righties, and the Brewers picked Jake Bauers over him today. Black is 3-for-11 with three walks since being recalled Thursday. Rotoworld Wednesday, 10:34 am

  • Out of lineup again Wednesday
Black is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rangers.

Advice: After starting each of the first four games upon being called up from Triple-A Nashville last Wednesday, Black has now been out of the lineup for three straight contests, with two of them coming against right-handed pitching. Jake Bauers will garner a second straight start at first base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:17 am

  • Taking seat Wednesday
Goodman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Advice: Goodman is on the bench Wednesday, but he seems to have settled into a near-everyday role of late while moving between designated hitter and catcher. He had started in nine of the Rockies' previous 10 games, going 10-for-37 with five home runs, one double, 10 RBI and seven runs over that stretch. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:53 am

  • Mauricio Dubón sits after 15 straight starts
Mauricio Dubón is absent from the Astros lineup Wednesday for the first time since June 7.

Advice: Dubón is a fantastic utilityman, but an everyday first baseman or left fielder he’s not and that’s rather how the Astros have been treating him lately. He’s hit .250/.276/.361 in 77 plate appearances this month, and it’d be for the best if he plays less once Kyle Tucker rejoins the Houston outfield. With Dubón sitting, Jon Singleton is making his first start since Friday. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:29 am

  • Swipes first bag of season
Tellez went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Reds.

Advice: The burly first baseman stole the fourth bag of his career, and his first since 2022, in the first inning as the Pirates grabbed an early 3-0 lead. Tellez has been enjoying his strong-side platoon role in June -- through 59 plate appearances this month, he's slashing .352/.407/.500 with five doubles, a homer, six runs and 11 RBI. • Sitting against lefty
Black isn't in the Brewers' lineup Tuesday against the Rangers.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Black will take a seat Tuesday as the Rangers prepare to send left-hander Andrew Heaney to the mound. Rhys Hoskins will start at first base while Gary Sanchez works as Milwaukee's designated hitter. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:14 pm

  • Taking seat Tuesday
Urias is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Guardians, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Urias had drawn three consecutive starts at third base, but he'll give way to Jordan Westburg on Tuesday. During those three starts, Urias went 0-for-10 and snapped a seven-game hit streak. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:35 am

  • Aledmys Díaz goes 0-for-3 against Angels
Aledmys Díaz went 0-for-3 with a strikeout as Oakland’s No. 9 hitter Monday against the Angels.

Advice: The A’s got ridiculously lucky that someone took Jace Peterson off their hands last summer, so they’ll keep giving Díaz the occasional start in the hopes that lightning will strike twice. The 33-year-old Díaz is 3-for-27 since returning from a calf injury on May 28. He hit .229/.280/.337 last year in the first season of a two-year, $14.5 million contract. Rotoworld Monday, 9:37 pm

  • Nathaniel Lowe goes 0-for-4, fans three times
Nathaniel Lowe went 0-for-4 and struck out three times against the Brewers in Monday’s loss.

Advice: Lowe looked like a long-term answer at first base for the Rangers in 2022, but his power production fell off last year and has continued to decline this season, as he’s managed just two homers and three barrels through 228 plate appearances. His .351 OBP is nice, so it seems unlikely that the Rangers will try to upgrade this summer. However, if he fails to step it up, he’s going to be a non-tender candidate this winter.
