• Playing time dwindling
Montero is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Houston.

Advice: It marks the fourth straight game that Montero has been out of the lineup, although he did make one pinch-hitting appearance over that stretch. The recent emergence of Michael Toglia has put the squeeze on Montero's playing time, and his .581 OPS hasn't helped, either. Rotowire.com Today, 11:42 am

  • Taking seat Tuesday
Urias is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Guardians, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Urias had drawn three consecutive starts at third base, but he'll give way to Jordan Westburg on Tuesday. During those three starts, Urias went 0-for-10 and snapped a seven-game hit streak. Rotowire.com Today, 11:35 am

  • Orioles officially bring in Garrett Cooper
Orioles signed INF Garrett Cooper to a minor-league contract.

Advice: Cooper will give the Orioles some depth at the minor-league level. The 33-year-old will need to be added to the 40-man roster in order to play for Baltimore in 2024, and it’s tough to see him carving out regular playing time even if that happens. Rotoworld Today, 10:12 am

  • Lifts homer Monday
Renfroe went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 4-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Renfroe's blast was his first in three games since he returned from a minimal stay on the injured list with a bruised toe. The outfielder has gone 8-for-25 (.320) in June, adding three homers and seven RBI across nine contests. While he's slashing just .198/.279/.373 on the year, his bat has started to come around, offering him a bit of security in a starting role in right field. Renfroe has added seven homers 27 RBI, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles and one stolen base over 197 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 9:57 am

  • Drives in three Monday
Meneses went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Monday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Padres.

Advice: All three of Meneses' hits drove in a run to erase the Padres' early 3-0 lead. He's been hitting well lately, going 15-for-46 (.326) with 10 RBI and five extra-base hits over his last 13 games. Meneses is at a .246/.302/.327 slash line for the year while adding three home runs, two stolen bases, 40 RBI and 18 runs scored over 275 plate appearances. He had a slow start in 2023 as well, but he'd need a big second half to get up to his level from last year (.275/.321/.401). Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:36 pm

  • Joey Meneses has three hits, three RBI in loss
Joey Meneses went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI against the Padres on Monday.

Advice: Meneses still really needs a few more games like this, given his struggles to date, and though the Nationals won’t want to make the move, there’s the chance he’ll be optioned out after Joey Gallo comes off the IL. Meneses is currently hitting .246/.302/.327 for the season, though much like in 2023, he has made the most of his contact; he’s driven in 40 runs in 67 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:20 pm

  • Clubs fifth homer
Nevin went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Nevin provided the Athletics' lone run with his solo shot off Griffin Canning in the second inning. Over six games since he rejoined Oakland's 26-man roster, he's gone 3-for-18 (.167) with two RBI. The infielder is slashing .213/.300/.348 with five homers, 12 RBI, 13 runs scored, four doubles and one stolen base over 160 plate appearances. While Nevin's hitting is nothing special, he'll have a chance to claim a regular spot in the lineup while Abraham Toro (hamstring) is sidelined for at least a month. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:09 pm

  • Aledmys Díaz goes 0-for-3 against Angels
Aledmys Díaz went 0-for-3 with a strikeout as Oakland’s No. 9 hitter Monday against the Angels.

Advice: The A’s got ridiculously lucky that someone took Jace Peterson off their hands last summer, so they’ll keep giving Díaz the occasional start in the hopes that lightning will strike twice. The 33-year-old Díaz is 3-for-27 since returning from a calf injury on May 28. He hit .229/.280/.337 last year in the first season of a two-year, $14.5 million contract. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:37 pm

  • Renfroe hits seventh home run in win Monday
Hunter Renfroe went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run against the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: Signs of life? Renfroe’s home run was his seventh of the year. He’s still only hitting .198 on the year with a .652 OPS. With the Royals optioning Nelson Velasquez to the minors, Renfroe has to understand it’s getting to be that time where he might not keep his job if his numbers don’t improve.
