• Cade Povich allows just two solo homers in win
Cade Povich held the Rangers to two runs while working five innings in a victory Saturday.

Advice: Both runs allowed by Povich came on solo homers. He gave up a shot to Corey Seager in the first before Seager left with a wrist injury, and another to Derek Hill in the fifth. Outside of that it was a strong outing for the 24-year-old rookie that saw him strike out three and not issue a walk. As long as Povich throws strikes, he’s got the stuff to succeed at the highest level. He has a friendly match-up scheduled for Friday against Oakland. Rotoworld Today, 7:15 pm

  • Nick Gordon homers in win over Phillies
Nick Gordon went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in the Marlins 3-2 win over the Phillies on Saturday.

Advice: Gordon took Aaron Nola deep for a solo homer in the second inning to put the Marlins on the board. He got on base with a single in the ninth for his second hit of the day. The 28-year-old outfielder is slashing .232/.255/.401 with eight homers, 29 RBI, and five steals across 216 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 3:50 pm

  • Garrett Stubbs homers in loss to Marlins
Garrett Stubbs went 1-for-2 with a solo homer against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Stubbs put the Phillies on the board with a solo homer off Roddery Muñoz to lead off the third inning, his first homer of the season. It was one of two runs the Phillies would score in the loss to Miami. The 29-year-old backstop has taken over as the primary catcher with J.T. Realmuto on the injured list. He’s slashing .216/.281/.261 across 96 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 3:50 pm

  • Roddery Muñoz allows two runs in no-decision
Roddery Muñoz allowed two runs with four strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies on Saturday.

Advice: Muñoz worked through two scoreless frames before Garrett Stubbs took him deep for a solo homer to lead off the third inning. A walk, base hit, and sacrifice fly would bring in a second run for the Phillies in the fifth inning before Muñoz was replaced on the mound with two outs at 79 pitches. He struck out four. The 24-year-old ends the day with a 5.58 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and a 38/20 K/BB ratio across 40 1/3 innings. He’s lined up for a start against the White Sox in Miami on Friday. • Michael Busch hits two-run homer in win over MIL
Michael Busch hit a two-run homer to help the Cubs to a win over the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: Busch gave the Cubs a two-run lead in the first inning with a blast off Tobias Myers in the first inning. The 26-year-old has homered 10 times thus far in 2024, but only two of those roundtrippers have come in the month of June. Still, it’s been a quality first full year of MLB action for Busch thus far with an .809 OPS through 237 at-bats. Rotoworld Today, 3:47 pm

  • Tobias Myers gets quality start, no-decision
Tobias Myers went six innings while allowing three runs and not factoring into the decision Saturday against the Cubs.

Advice: Myers dealt with quite a bit of traffic Saturday, as he allowed seven hits and also issued a pair of walks. He was able to work around that traffic for the most part, thanks largely to six strikeouts and a couple of double plays. The 25-year-old gave up a two-run homer to Michael Busch in the first, but it was (mostly) smooth sailing from that point on. Myers does see his ERA jump up to 3.26, but that’s still a very solid number for the right-handed hurler. He faces Colorado next, and it’s worth pointing out that start will take place in Denver. • Idle Friday
Gordon is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Philadelphia.

Advice: Gordon will get a breather Friday after making six straight starts, collecting a hit in each contest. Bryan De La Cruz will play left field and lead off against the Phillies. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:28 pm

  • Added to roster
The Cardinals selected Graceffo's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Friday.

Advice: Graceffo has posted a 3.84 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 70:29 K:BB across 75 frames with Memphis this season. All 14 of his appearances have been starts, and while it's possible he'll get a look in the rotation eventually with the Cardinals, the plan for now is to break him in as a reliever. Graceffo will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:20 pm
  • Cardinals promote Gordon Graceffo for MLB debut
Cardinals selected the contract of RHP Gordon Graceffo from Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Graceffo, who is in the majors for the first time at age 24, will likely see innings behind Andre Pallante tonight, but whether he sticks around afterwards could depend on just how many innings that becomes. He comes into this having won his last four Triple-A starts and not giving up a run in the last two. Overall, he had a 3.84 ERA and a 70/29 K/BB in 75 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:13 pm
