    Advice: Abrams has rattled off three hits in four of his last five games, and he's added three steals, three RBI and eight runs scored in that span. The shortstop's sizzling stretch has him up to a .283/.335/.507 slash line through 71 contests. His .842 OPS is his highest mark since May 12.     Advice: Walls recorded just his second multi-hit game in 12 starts this season, and the performance brought his average to .175 on the campaign.     CJ Abrams went 3-for-3 with two walks Tuesday against the Padres.

    Advice: It’s too bad this netted Abrams only one run and one RBI, even though the Nationals scored seven times. Unfortunately, the play from Abrams in this game that everyone will see was him being thrown out after lazily going back to first base following a single. He was also picked off first base in the game. He later appeared to have a stolen base, only to wind up getting sent back to first base because the umpire interfered with the catcher’s throw.   • Brett Wisely finishes 2-for-4 in Giants’ victory
    Brett Wisely went 2-for-4 with a run scored from the leadoff spot in the Giants’ 5-1 defeat of the Cubs on Tuesday.

    Advice: Wisely’s second hit, a 403-foot double to left-center, would have been a homer in 29 of 30 ballparks and really a no-doubter in most of them. Oracle Park isn’t built that way, though.   • Nabs two bags in loss
    Garcia went 0-for-2 with two steals, two walks and one run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Marlins.

    Advice: Garcia drew a second consecutive start at the keystone and stole two bases in the first inning after leading off with a walk. The 24-year-old has struggled mightily in June as he entered the contest slashing .145/.211/.169 with no homers and four steals across 90 plate appearances. The Kansas City infield became more crowded with CJ Alexander debuting and Michael Massey (back) returning from the injured list Monday, so Garcia will have to start producing at the plate and on the basepaths to maintain a starting role.   • Homers, scores three times in loss
    Henderson went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in a 10-8 loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

    Advice: Henderson hit a two-run home run in the first inning then walked and scored in the third. He later singled and scored in the seventh frame and added another walk in the eighth. Henderson registered his seventh-multi hit game in June and is now slashing .333/.436/.667 with seven home runs and 14 RBI this month.   • Swipes two bases Tuesday
    Kreidler went 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Phillies. He also stole two bases.

    Advice: Kreidler stole the first two bases of his MLB career in the seventh inning, when he swiped second base then stole third a short while later. The 26-year-old has mostly been a bench player in the majors, so while this effort was promising, it looks to be an outlier. Zach McKinstry figures to get most of the playing time at shortstop in the near future with Javier Baez (back) still on the injured list, pushing Kreidler to a reserve role most days.   • Josh Smith drives in lone run for Rangers in loss
    Josh Smith went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Brewers.

    Advice: Smith singled off Hoby Milner in the first inning to score Corey Seager from second, giving the Rangers an early 1-0 lead and their only run of the game. Smith was responsible for just one of five hits the Rangers had on the night, but the young third baseman has turned in a solid June, going 22-for-61 (.361) at the plate with eight extra-base hits and 10 RBI.   • Nick Gonzales has three hits in win
    Nick Gonzales went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

    Advice: It was a much-needed strong game for Gonzales, who came into today hitting just .224 in 20 games in June. The 25-year-old is still barreling the ball 11 percent in 2024 but his groundball rate has gone up to 52 percent in June and he’s pulling the ball more, which has led to more rollover groundballs and fewer line drives all over the field.
