  • Lamonte Wade Jr. coming off IL on Thursday
    According to MLB.com’s Maria I. Guardado, the Giants will activate 1B/OF Lamonte Wade Jr. (hamstring) from the 10-day IL on Friday.

  • Poised to come off IL Friday
    Wade (hamstring) will be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Wade has been sidelined for the past month with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain but has been cleared to return after playing three rehab games with Triple-A Sacramento, going 1-for-7 with a 2:4 K:BB.     Sheets (heel) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against Atlanta.

    Advice: Sheets was forced out of Wednesday's 4-0 loss to the Dodgers with a bruised left heel and is considered day-to-day. The 28-year-old could end up filling more of a part-time role for the White Sox moving forward in the wake of Eloy Jimenez's recent return from the injured list, so Sheets may not re-enter the lineup for a few more days even if he quickly shakes off the heel injury.     Advice: Tellez led off the fourth inning with his third home run of the season, two of which have come in his last 14 games. He's been productive in that span by going 17-for-48 with eight RBI and seven runs scored.     Lowe went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an RBI single during Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Brewers in 10 innings.

    Advice: Lowe teed off on Dallas Keuchel Wednesday, tagging the Brewers' starter for an RBI single in the second inning before launching a two-run shot off Keuchel in the fourth.     Bauers went 1-for-4 with a grand slam during Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Rangers in 10 innings.

    Advice: Bauers got the Brewers on the board in the third inning, plating Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich and Willy Adames on a grand slam off Nathan Eovaldi. The grand slam was the second of Bauers' career. Though he's been splitting time with Rhys Hoskins at first base, Bauers is batting .273 with nine RBI and seven runs in his last 18 games.     Arias went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a stolen base against Baltimore in a loss Wednesday.

    Advice: Arias accounted for two of Cleveland's five hits in the defeat and plated the team's final run with his fifth-inning solo homer. The utility man has perked up at the plate of late, batting an even .400 (10-for-25) with a pair of long balls and five RBI over his past nine games. Arias missed some time due to a family medical emergency during that span and isn't an everyday player for the Guardians, so the hot stretch extends back to the beginning of June.   • Homers in first big-league at-bat
    Noel went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Orioles.

    Advice: Noel enjoyed a storybook first big-league plate appearance, blasting a solo shot 413 feet to center field. The 22-year-old was promoted from Triple-A earlier in the day after blazing to a .295/.359/.578 slash line with 18 homers and 59 RBI over 65 games with Columbus. Noel's power is unquestioned -- he went deep 27 times at Triple-A last season -- though he has had some strikeout issues during his time in the minors. There isn't an obvious path to everyday at-bats with the big club, but if Joel is productive, he could work his way into fairly regular playing time by moving between first base, the corner-outfield spots and designated hitter.
