    Advice: A Jahmai Jones triple in the second inning was the only knock on Sale's line as the veteran lefty fanned at least seven batters for the eighth time in nine starts since the beginning of May. Over that stretch, he's posted a 2.45 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 74:9 K:BB through 55 innings en route to becoming the third pitcher in the majors this season to reach double-digit wins, after the Phillies' Ranger Suarez and the Royals' Seth Lugo.   • Chris Sale stifles Yankees, earns win
    Chris Sale struck out eight Yankees and allowed just one run across five innings in an 8-1 win on Friday. He walked three while the Yankees had just one hit.

    Advice: Sale was on one in this start. Aaron Judge and Juan Soto were a combined 0-for-4 with four punch outs against the gangly left-hander and just two Yankees reached second base. More notable, Sale’s velocity was up nearly two ticks across the board. His fastball topped out at 98.4 MPH, the fastest he’s thrown a pitch in more than 13 months.   • Moved up to start Sunday
    Severino will move up in the Mets' rotation to start Sunday against the Cubs, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

    Advice: Severino had been slated to start Tuesday versus his former club, the Yankees, but will be bumped up a couple days to take the ball on regular rest.     Advice: Peralta gave up six runs over 5.1 innings in his previous start, but he bounced back with one of his best outings of the season. This is the second time he's kept runs off the board through 15 starts this year, and it's his sixth quality start. Peralta is at a 4.06 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 106:29 K:BB through 82 innings.     Freddy Peralta struck out eight batters over six shutout innings in a win over the Angels on Wednesday.

    Advice: Peralta bounced back after a six-run outing to make his best start of the season on Wednesday. He held the Angels scoreless over six innings, striking out eight batters on 18 whiffs. He scattered three hits and two walks, tossing 60-of-101 pitches for strikes. The 28-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 4.06 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 106/29 K/BB ratio across 82 innings.     Dodgers placed RHP Walker Buehler on the 15-day injured list with right hip inflammation.

    Advice: Buehler was hit in the hip by a comebacker during Thursday’s bloodbath at Coors Field, so it gives the Dodgers a viable reason to stash him on the injured list for a couple of weeks while he works through some of his struggles. Buehler has pitched to a woeful 5.84 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP over 37 innings in eight starts since returning from the injured list. According to Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times, manager Dave Roberts said after the game that Buehler could go on the injured list after taking a comebacker off his hip earlier in the contest.

    Advice: Buehler has struggled at times this season since he returned from Tommy John surgery, and a trip to Coors Field did him no favors for getting on track. He's struck out three or fewer batters in each of his last three starts, and Tuesday marked the third time this season he's given up multiple home runs in an outing. Buehler is now sitting on a 5.84 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB with 10 home runs allowed over 37 innings across eight starts. He's tentatively in line to make his ninth start next Monday or Tuesday on the road versus the White Sox, his status is in flux due to the hip issue, which didn't force him out of his start against the Rockies but may nonetheless be reason enough for the Dodgers to put him on ice for a bit.
