• Added to Monday's lineup
Drury will start at second base and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Pirates, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Drury was initially slated to receive the day off, but he'll end up handling his usual role as the starting second baseman after Luis Rengifo (illness) was scratched. The 31-year-old Drury heads into Monday's contest in a 2-for-31 funk at the plate over his last 10 games. Rotowire.com 37 minutes ago
  • Absent from lineup
Drury is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Drury played the last two games after missing the two contests before that with a migraine. He's also missed time recently with a hamstring issue and has managed just two hits in his last 31 at-bats. Luis Rengifo will replace Drury at second base Monday. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago
  • Connor Joe batting cleanup for Pirates on Monday
Connor Joe is starting for the Pirates on Monday against the Angels and batting cleanup.

Advice: Joe has now started the last three games and five of the last six. He most often plays against lefties but gets the occasional start against righties as well. The 31-year-old is hitting .290/.372/.460 on the season with three home runs, 14 RBI, and two steals. With the Pirates set to face three lefties this week, Joe could see some more at-bats than usual. Rowdy Tellez and Jack Suwinski will take a seat against left-hander Tyler Anderson with Edward Olivares also in the lineup in right field and batting fifth. Rotoworld Today, 11:39 am

  • Sitting against southpaw
Tellez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

Advice: As he usually does, the lefty-hitting Tellez will retreat to the bench while the opposition brings a lefty (Tyler Anderson) to the hill. Connor Joe will replace Tellez at first base and will bat cleanup. Rotowire.com Today, 11:33 am
  • Resumes drills
Jones (back) did throwing and running drills ahead of Saturday's game against the Pirates, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Jones had been shut down for a few days since landing on the injured list Tuesday. Manager Bud Black acknowledged that Jones is progressing each day, and the current expectation is that he will be able to return by mid-May. Rotowire.com Today, 9:05 am
  • Showing power in regular role
Singleton went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Mariners.

Advice: Singleton has started six straight games since Jose Abreu was optioned to the minors and has tallied all three of his home runs for the season in that span. He's gone 6-for-20 overall across those six contests while striking out at just an 8.7 percent clip. With Abreu out of the picture and Joey Loperfido getting his playing time in the outfield, Singleton appears to have the first base job to himself for the foreseeable future. • Report: Royals reached out to ask for Arraez
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports that the Royals contacted the Marlins last week to discuss trading for Luis Arraez before the infielder was dealt to the Padres

Advice: Rosenthal was quick to note that those talks “never advanced beyond the preliminary stage"; however, it’s interesting that the Royals even made the phone call because it tells us that the team is looking to capitalize on their fast start to the season which sees them just 2.5 games behind the Guardians in the AL Central. However, another interesting aspect of this is where the Royals may be looking to upgrade. Michael Massey has been pretty good at second base since coming off the IL and Vinnie Pasquantino is locked in at first base, so the Royals must have felt that Arraez could fill the DH spot, which means either Nelson Velazquez or Hunter Renfroe could be on notice in the midst of a slow start to the season. • Three straight multi-hit games
Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and two RBI on Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Diaz is hitting just .235 across his 150 plate appearances of the season, though his results have begun to turn around of late. Sunday marked his third straight start with two hits, and he also has a double, four RBI and a run scored in that span. Diaz has only two barrels in 114 batted ball events to begin the season, though he should continue to see hits fall in at an increased clip as he's maintained a 15.3 percent strikeout rate -- in line with his career norm. • Expected to return Monday
Burger (oblique) joined the Marlins in Los Angeles and is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's series opener versus the Dodgers, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Advice: On the shelf since April 15 with a left intercostal strain, Burger looks to have checked out fine after completing the final phase of his recovery process this past week, when he joined Triple-A Jacksonville for a rehab assignment. He played in three games for Jacksonville, going 3-for-11 with two runs, two walks and one RBI in addition to playing nine innings at first base and 18 innings at third base. Once activated, Burger should immediately settle back in as the Marlins' everyday option at the hot corner, resulting in Vidal Brujan and Emmanuel Rivera losing out on playing time.
