Now that he's a free agent, Garcia could attract some interest on a low-cost, one-year deal, but he may not have a clear path to an everyday role no matter where he lands.     Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and an additional run during Sunday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the White Sox.

    Advice: Hamilton clubbed his third home run of the season Sunday, taking Chris Flexen yard in the fifth inning. He also scored the game-tying run in the ninth, reaching on a double off Tanner Banks and stealing third base before scoring on a sac fly by Reese McGuire.     Advice: The 32-year-old outfielder was designated for assignment earlier in the week and passed through waivers unclaimed. The Marlins are still on the hook for close to $25 million for Garcia and any team that want to pick him up will only be responsible for the league-minimum salary.     MJ Melendez hit a game-tying two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth Sunday against the Royals.

    Advice: Melendez also had a two-run homer as part of a four-RBI game Friday. He’d seem to be in desperate need of the surge, though really, we’d argue that the Royals should have sent him down weeks ago.     Advice: Buxton went hitless but managed to reach base on a hit-by-pitch in the 10th inning. He recorded his third stolen base in five tries this season and his first since May 28. Buxton has had a brutal start to the month of June, batting just .115 (3-for-26) with one RBI, one run scored and one stolen base.     Jake McCarthy went 3-for-4 and clobbered his third home run of the season on Sunday, powering the Diamondbacks in their 9-3 rout over the Padres in San Diego.

    Advice: McCarthy capped off a six-run rally in the second inning with his 351-foot (94.9 mph EV) two-run shot off of Padres’ starter Adam Mazur. The speedy 26-year-old outfielder also singled twice and drew a walk in the contest, reaching base safely in four of his five plate appearances.     Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 2-for-5 with a double and a pair of RBI on Sunday as the Diamondbacks throttled the Padres in San Diego.

    Advice: The 30-year-old outfielder smacked a two-run double off of Adam Mazur in the second inning and rode home on Jake McCarthy’s two-run blast. He also singled in the fourth inning and raced around to score on a two-out RBI single by Eugenio Suarez.     Jurickson Profar socked his 10th dinger of the season on Sunday afternoon in a lopsided loss to the Diamondbacks.

    Advice: The 31-year-old outfielder continued his hot-hitting ways, crushing a 384-foot (102.5 mph EV) solo shot off of Tommy Henry in the third inning, pulling the Padres to within four runs at 7-3. That would be as close as they would get. Profar also singled in the contest, finishing the afternoon 2-for-4.
