      Advice: Berrios kept the Astros off the scoreboard until the fifth inning, where he unwound and allowed three singles, a hit-by-pitch and a three-run home run. Still, Berrios was able to snare a second straight win as the Blue Jays had compiled seven runs prior to the fifth. The 30-year-old has been shaky as of late, owning a 5.97 ERA with 17 strikeouts and eight home runs allowed over his last five starts. He's scheduled to face the Mariners on Sunday.       Zach Littell picked up his third victory of the season on Tuesday evening, scattering four hits over five shutout innings against the Royals.

      Advice: Littell punched out four batters on the night and didn’t walk a batter. He needed just 68 pitches (49 strikes) to get through five frames — and he would’ve likely worked deeper into the game had it not been for a lengthy rain delay after the fifth inning. The 28-year-old righty got eight whiffs on the night, registering a strong CSW of 34 percent. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he brings a 3.94 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and an 86/16 K/BB ratio (91 1/3 innings) into Sunday’s matchup against the Rangers in Arlington.       Advice: Helsley was asked to protect a 7-4 lead in the ninth inning and did so on 17 pitches.       Jose Berrios allowed five runs on five hits in five innings in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.

      Advice: Berrios kept the Astros off the scoreboard for the first four innings, but the fifth inning was a bit of a disaster. The inning started with a hit by pitch and then a walk and then was followed by two singles and a home run to push five runs across the plate and end his day. The veteran has a 3.63 ERA on the year, but his underlying metrics suggest some regression is coming. Still, he should be able to survive a showdown against the Mariners this weekend.       Ryan Helsley threw a scoreless ninth inning to pick up a save in a 7-4 win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

      Advice: Ryan got through four innings unscathed while racking up eight of his 10 strikeouts over that span. He found himself in some immediate trouble in the fifth after allowing a leadoff triple and wound up surrendering two runs in the inning following a pair of base knocks and a fielding error. Sunday was Ryan's second double-digit strikeout performance this season and his second straight outing without walking a batter. He's given up two runs or less in four of his last five starts, though that's only amounted to one win.       Irvin (6-5) took the loss against the Rangers on Sunday, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 3.2 innings.

      Advice: Irvin served up a two-run blast to Derek Hill in the second and was chased out of the game in the fourth after surrendering a triple, three singles and a walk, leading to three more runs for the Rangers. He's now failed to cover at least five innings in three straight starts and has given up 14 runs over that span while compiling just a 5:4 K:BB in his last 12.1 innings pitched. Irvin now owns a 4.13 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 56:17 K:BB in 80.2 innings this season. He's lined up for a start against the Athletics this weekend, though it's worth monitoring what manager Brandon Hyde decides to do with his rotation spot following his recent struggles with Dean Kremer (triceps) on the cusp of returning from a rehab assignment.
