      Hunter Goodman is back on the bench Monday after making his first start in four games Sunday.

      Advice: It’s like the Rockies stopped viewing Goodman as an option at first base and in right field after Elias Díaz got hurt last month and still haven’t changed that mindset, even though Díaz is back now.       The Reds transferred Stephenson (personal) from the paternity list to the family medical emergency list Monday.

      Advice: Stephenson had been away for the last three games while on the paternity list. By rule, players can miss 3-to-7 days while on the family medical emergency list, whereas he would have to be activated ahead of Tuesday's game against the Yankees had he remained on the paternity list. His playing time has rebounded after dipping in late May and early June, but Naylor will need to continue to make a good effort due to David Fry being around to poach starts behind the dish.
