    • Bryan Hoeing (hamstring) set to return on Friday
Bryan Hoeing (hamstring) will start on Friday against the White Sox.

Advice: Hoeing will be officially activated from the injured list to take the ball for Friday’s series opener against the White Sox. The 27-year-old righty has been out since early May recovering from a left hamstring strain. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:02 pm

    • Takes loss against Guardians
Kopech (2-7) allowed one hit and one earned run across 0.2 innings and took the loss Tuesday against the Guardians.

Advice: Kopech entered the game in the ninth inning with the score tied at 6-6. He allowed a leadoff single and threw a wild pitch to put the runner on third base before allowing a sacrifice fly to bring in the game-winning run for Cleveland. Kopech has each of the White Sox's last two saves and should remain the team's primary closer despite a 4.50 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 36 innings this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:03 am

    • Fades in no-decision
Woods Richardson came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Tigers, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: After cruising through four scoreless innings, the right-hander began to run out of gas in the fifth, serving up a solo shot to Justyn-Henry Malloy and a two-run blast to Ryan Kreidler that briefly gave Detroit a 3-2 lead. Woods Richardson was eventually lifted after 94 pitches (61 strikes), falling just short of his fifth quality start of the season. He'll carry a 3.52 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 60:21 K:BB through 71.2 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against the Astros. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:47 am
    • Hit hard in loss
Arrighetti (4-7) took the loss Tuesday, allowing six runs on six hits and four walks across four innings against Toronto. He struck out five.

Advice: Five of the six hits Arrighetti allowed went for extra bases, including a three-run home run by George Springer and a solo homer by Spencer Horwitz, both of which came in the third inning. Tuesday's outing came on the back of the rookie's best start of 2024 when he blanked the Rockies across seven innings. Arrighetti has surrendered six or more runs three times this season and has walked multiple batters in all but one of his appearances, owning a 6.13 ERA overall. He's on track to close out a two-start week Sunday in Minnesota. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:52 pm
    • Bounces back with win
Ashcraft (5-4) picked up the win Tuesday against the Yankees, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks across five-plus innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Ashcraft spent three weeks at Triple-A Louisville before allowing six runs in a start against the Pirates on June 26. He rebounded after struggling in his first start back in the bigs, blanking the Yankees over five innings before allowing a pair of singles and a walk and getting pulled without recording an out in the sixth. Ashcraft is expected to stick around for one more cycle in the Cincinnati rotation, with a start scheduled for Sunday against Detroit before Nick Lodolo (finger) returns from the injured list. • Pitches well Tuesday
Nelson allowed one run on six hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Advice: Joe Mantiply opened for the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, retiring two of the first three batters. Nelson proceeded to allow an inherited runner to score when he entered the game and was tagged for another run in the third inning, but that was the extent of the damage. Two of the five times Nelson's held an opponent to one run or fewer this year have been against the Dodgers, though he hasn't been dominant against them by any means. Overall, the right-hander has a 5.42 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 49:19 K:BB through 73 innings over 15 appearances (13 starts). He's projected to make his next appearance at San Diego. • Shohei Ohtani hits 27th homer in win over D-backs
Shohei Ohtani clobbered his 27th home run of the season on Tuesday night as the Dodgers rallied to defeat the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Ohtani, who told reporters afterwards that he’s unlikely to participate in the upcoming All-Star Home Run Derby, led off the home half of the first inning with a double and scored the game’s first run on an RBI double off the bat of Teoscar Hernandez. He then flipped the game in the Dodgers’ favor with a mammoth 433-foot (112.0 mph exit velocity) two-run shot off of Justin Martinez in the seventh inning that made it a 4-3 ballgame. Ohtani finished the night 3-for-5 and is now slashing an absurd .320/.402/.646 with 27 homers, 64 RBI and 16 swipes. Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:18 pm

    • Homer among three hits in win
Ohtani went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Ohtani was a triple shy of the cycle in another impressive game from atop the order. Over his last 20 games, the superstar has slugged 12 homers and driven in 23 runs while batting .351 (26-for-74). He's been outstanding all year and seems to be getting better with his recent performance. Ohtani has a .320/.402/.646 slash line with 27 long balls, 64 RBI, 69 runs scored and 16 stolen bases through 83 contests. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:09 pm

    • Ryne Nelson excels in no-decision vs. Dodgers
Ryne Nelson delivered a strong performance in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Tuesday, giving up just one run on six hits over his five frames.

Advice: Nelson struck out three batters on the night while allowing one base on balls. He took over in the first inning after Joe Mantiply recorded the first two outs and left a runner at second base. Nelson allowed that inherited runner to score, but escaped the inning unscathed otherwise. The lone run charged to him came as Teoscar Hernandez grounded into a fielder’s choice in the third inning. Nelson got six whiffs on 78 pitches on the night, posting a miserable CSW of only 18 percent. He’ll look to further improve upon his 5.42 ERA and 1.56 WHIP when he does battle against the Padres in San Diego on Sunday. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:58 pm
