It's possible Goodrum returns later this year if the Angels continue to struggle with infield depth, but he has proven to be an offensive liability throughout his seven-year career in MLB. Raley's multi-hit effort was an extension of a torrid stretch at the plate for the offseason addition, one that's seen him generate a .435 average and 1.219 OPS over the last seven games.     Canzone (shoulder) went 1-for-3 with a double and a run in a win over the Royals on Wednesday.

    Advice: Activated from the injured list earlier in the day, Canzone helped give the Mariners some key breathing room by doubling in the seventh and then coming home with Seattle's third run. Canzone was seeing his first big-league game action in just over a month, having last played April 14. Now apparently back to full health after playing a full game in left field Wednesday, Canzone should be a fixture in the lineup against right-handed pitching moving forward.     Advice: Berti has started four games at third base over the last week, with Oswaldo Cabrera starting two and playing second for another. Berti has gone 6-for-19 (.316) in six games since coming off the IL with two steals; however, Cabrera is 9-for-30 (.300) in 10 games in May with six strikeouts and two walks, so he’s certainly not giving the job up to Berti without a fight.     Vargas went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the White Sox.

    Advice: Batting third against southpaw Garrett Crochet as Nats manager Dave Martinez desperately tried to spark his struggling offense, Vargas didn't make a big impact but was able to steal his third bag of the year, tying his career high. The 32-year-old utility player has been seeing semi-consistent starts in May, batting .294 (5-for-17) in nine games with three doubles, two runs and an RBI. He's already played 10-plus games at both second base and third base in 2024 while also seeing duty in left field (six games) and at shortstop (three games), giving him some fantasy value in deep NL-only formats.
