For the season, Mountcastle has a strong .281/.321/.509 slash line with 11 homers, 31 RBI, 34 runs scored, two stolen bases and 16 doubles over 57 games.       Advice: It became apparent several weeks ago that Senga, who has been on the shelf since spring training due to a right shoulder issue, simply wasn’t making enough progress to return to New York prior to the All-Star break.       Diaz gave up a run on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning Friday, recording his 13th save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Cubs. He struck out one.

      Advice: The right-hander made things difficult once again, issuing a free pass with two outs before a Miguel Amaya double brought the tying run to the plate. Diaz was able to strike out Patrick Wisdom to end the game, however. Diaz has walked a batter in four straight appearances, but he's successfully converted six straight save chances. On the season, he carries a rough 5.55 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 27:18 K:BB through 24.1 innings, but for now the Reds are willing to let him work through his control issues.       Blue Jays INF prospect Orelvis Martinez belted his 15th homer of the season on Friday for Triple-A Buffalo.

      Advice: Martinez leads the International League with 15 big flies this season and doesn’t appear to have too much left to prove in the minors, especially with Toronto’s lineup continuing to struggle.       Michael King struck out five over five shutout innings on Friday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: King received double-digit run support from San Diego’s offense and was able to cruise to a relatively easy win, scattering four hits and one walk over five spotless frames. The 29-year-old righty has been phenomenal of late, allowing three earned runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts since May 4. He’ll carry a sharp 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 83/32 K/BB ratio across 78 innings (14 appearances, 13 starts) into an extremely favorable matchup on Wednesday afternoon against the rebuilding Athletics.       Witt went 3-for-5 with a triple, one RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 10-9 win over the Mariners.

      Advice: Witt's triple was his seventh of the year, putting him second in the majors behind Boston's Jarren Duran (nine). It was a timely three-bagger for Witt, as it tied the game in the ninth inning, and he went home as the winning run on a Nelson Velazquez fielder's choice. This was Witt's third three-hit effort in his last six games. He's up to a .323/.375/.568 slash line with 11 home runs, 47 RBI, 56 runs scored and 19 stolen bases over 64 contests this season.
