    • Lane Thomas plates two runs in loss to Padres
Lane Thomas smacked a two-run double, drew a pair of walks and scored a run on Wednesday as the Nationals fell to the Padres in San Diego.

Advice: Thomas finally broke through and got the Nationals on the board with a two-run double off of Tom Cosgrove in the ninth inning. He scored later in the frame on a two-run double by Luis Garcia, but the five-run rally in the ninth still fell short. The 28-year-old outfielder was also cut down attempting to steal second base in the ballgame. He finished the afternoon 1-for-2 and is now hitting .243/.302/.431 to go with eight homers, 34 RBI and 17 stolen bases (in 23 attempts) on the season. Rotoworld Today, 3:46 pm

    • Strong showing from bottom of order
Bader went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 9-7 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Hitting ninth in the order, Bader took Gerrit Cole deep in the second inning, one of four homers by the Mets off the Yankees' ace. The 30-year-old center fielder is slashing .273/.295/.545 through 18 games in June with three of his five homers and three of his 11 steals on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 5:44 am
    • Harrison Bader has two hits, HR in win
Harrison Bader went 2-for-4 with a home run, a steal, and two runs scored in a win over the Yankees on Tuesday.

Advice: Bader’s home run was a 419-foot shot for his fifth of the season, and the stolen base was his 11th of the year. Bader has been playing regularly as the Mets’ starting center fielder and should continue to see regular at-bats with Starling Marte now out for at least a month. Bader is hitting .272 on the year and has always had enough power and speed to be fantasy-relevant when healthy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:45 pm
    • Robert Jr. has double, two walks in loss Monday
Luis Robert Jr. went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks against the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: Robert Jr. only has 91 at-bats this season, but he’s hitting .198 with a 35 percent strikeout percentage. For one of the most talked about potential trade pieces in baseball, he’s really had a rough season. Robert Jr.'s BABIP is only .217, which is well below his career .328 BABIP, but he still needs to cut his strikeouts. Maybe the two walks show that he’s seeing it better at the plate and he can start to turn his season around with a little more than a month before the trade deadline. • Nationals bring Harold Ramírez back to majors
Nationals selected the contract of OF Harold Ramírez from Triple-A Rochester.

Advice: Trey Lipscomb was sent down. Ramírez figures to take over as Eddie Rosario’s platoon partner versus lefties. He could also outproduce Joey Meneses against righties, but the Nationals probably aren’t going to want to play him over Meneses at first base. In fact, they gave him just one start there in his seven games for Rochester. He played right field twice and DH’d four times while hitting .375/.516/.417 in 31 plate appearances. • Contract selected by Washington
The Nationals selected Ramirez's contract from Triple-A Rochester on Monday.

Advice: Ramirez joined the Nationals on a minor-league deal June 15 and had to wait a little under two weeks before getting the call to the big club. Trey Lipscomb was optioned to Triple-A Rochester to open up a spot on the 26-man active roster for Ramirez, who will likely serve as a short-side platoon player during his time with Washington. Ramirez previously posted a .268/.284/.305 slash line in 169 plate appearances with the Rays before being cut earlier this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 4:00 pm

    • Joining big club in San Diego
Ramirez joined the Nationals in San Diego and could be formally added to the active roster prior to Monday's series opener with the Padres, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Ramirez started the season with the Rays, slashing .268/.284/.305 before being released June 14. After signing with Washington, he appeared in seven games with Triple-A Rochester, going 9-for-24 with four RBI. The Nationals haven't yet confirmed that Ramirez has been called up to the big club, but more details on his status should arrive shortly before the 9:40 p.m. ET start time of Monday's game. • Comes up clutch
Thomas went 1-for-4 with an RBI double, a run scored and a stolen base during Sunday's 2-1 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Thomas spearheaded the Nationals' comeback, plating CJ Abrams with a game-tying double and then stealing third before scoring the go-ahead run on a Joey Meneses single. Thomas has generated at least one run and RBI in four consecutive games, going 7-for-19 with a pair of doubles, a triple and a home run during that stretch. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:44 pm

    • Two doubles, steal in win
Bader went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, one stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Bader entered Sunday 0-for-9 over his last three games. He broke the drought with his fourth multi-hit effort over 17 contests in June. While he's hitting .255 (13-for-51) this month, eight of those knocks have gone for extra bases, and he's driven in 11 runs. The outfielder is slashing .268/.316/.388 with four home runs, 13 doubles, 27 RBI, 27 runs scored and 10 steals through 67 games this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:27 pm
