    • Notches 12th save
Yates struck out two batters in a perfect ninth inning and earned a save over Tampa Bay.

Advice: Yates tossed 11 of 16 pitches for strikes as he cruised through the Rays' 9-1-2 hitters for the save. He's converted each of his 12 save chances this season, though Friday's was his first since June 19. The veteran righty owns a stifling 0.89 ERA with a 43:14 K:BB through 30.1 innings. • Tagged with loss
Bibee (7-3) yielded four runs on six hits and two walks Friday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Giants.

Advice: Bibee got off to a brutal start, coughing up three runs in the first inning. He snapped his streak of three consecutive quality starts with his shortest outing since May 8. Bibee went 3-1 with a terrific 40:4 K:BB in five June starts and was 5-1 over his previous 10 outings before Friday's loss. He now owns a 3.67 ERA with a 115:24 K:BB through 98 frames. Bibee's next outing is projected to be in Detroit. Rotowire.com Today, 8:09 pm

    • Nestor Cortes strikes out eight Red Sox
Nestor Cortes allowed just one run in six innings against the Red Sox on Friday. He struck out eight and walked one in a no-decision.

Advice: Cortes carved the Red Sox up in this one. His fastball and sweeper each induced six swings-and-misses as those two pitches along with his cutter rendered the Sox’s bats powerless. The quality start was Cortes’ ninth of the season as he’s led a fantastic bounce-back campaign. Rotoworld Today, 8:06 pm

    • Luis Robert Jr. swipes two bases in win over Fish
Luis Robert Jr. went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, drew two walks and swiped a pair of bases as the White Sox triumphed over the Marlins on Friday evening in Miami.

Advice: The 26-year-old outfielder smacked a one-out single off of Bryan Hoenig in the third inning and swiped second base, but the White Sox were unable to cash him in. He also drew a two-out walk in the sixth inning and nabbed second again before being stranded there. On the season, he’s now hitting .235/.313/.515 with 10 homers, 18 RBI and six stolen bases through his first 35 games. Rotoworld Today, 7:11 pm

Suzuki went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 5-1 win over the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Suzuki got the scoring started Friday with a two-run home run off Griffin Canning in the first inning. The 29-year-old has now homered four times over his past 10 games with eight RBI and eight runs scored. He has been a solid contributor across the board in 2024, hitting .262 with 12 home runs, 36 RBI, 36 runs scored and eight steals over 275 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 1:59 pm

    • Harrison Bader (neck) returns to lineup on Friday
Harrison Bader (neck) returned to the Mets’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Pirates.

Advice: The 30-year-old outfielder sat out each of the team’s last two games with soreness in his neck that he suffered when he crashed into the outfield wall on Tuesday. Unfortunately, his reward for returning on Friday is a tough matchup against rookie phenom Paul Skenes. Bader will start in center field and bat ninth for the Mets on Friday evening in Pittsburgh. • Back in lineup
Bader is batting ninth and playing center field Friday against Pittsburgh.

Advice: Bader had missed back-to-back games with a head injury after colliding with the outfield wall Tuesday. However, he's recovered from the injury and will return to his regular spot in center field. Rotowire.com Today, 12:29 pm

    • Another three-hit performance
Witt went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: Witt drove home Kansas City's second run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the third inning before recording a hit in each of his next three trips to the plate, including a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth. It was the star shortstop's third multi-hit performance in his last four games, and he's now tallied at least one RBI in four straight. Witt is 6-for-11 (.545) through three games to start the month of July, and his .319 average on the season puts him at second in the majors behind Steven Kwan (.367). • Struggles in Independence Day loss
Stroman (7-4) took the loss against Cincinnati on Thursday, pitching five innings and allowing five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six batters over five innings.

Advice: Stroman struggled to keep the ball in the park Thursday -- of the five hits he allowed, three were long balls, and all five of the runs he yielded came on home runs. The right-hander hadn't been prone to the long ball coming in, as he hadn't given up a homer in three of his prior four starts. Stroman hasn't been pitching particularly well of late, though, as he has a 6.43 ERA across 21 frames covering his past four outings. The five earned runs he allowed against the Reds tied a season-high mark. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:06 pm
