The rookie outfielder has his first ever four-hit game, and one of those was a walk-off single in the 11th off Jesse Chavez.       Alvarado earned the save in Friday's 4-3 win over the Giants, allowing one hit while logging a strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.

      Advice: Alvarado allowed a leadoff single before setting down the next three Giants, closing out the one-run victory for his sixth save of the season. After giving up five runs in his first outing of the year, Alvarado's allowed just one run in his subsequent 13 innings.       José Alvarado threw a scoreless ninth in a one-run game for his sixth save Friday against the Giants.

      Advice: Alvarado gave up five runs on Opening Day and remained wild for a spell after that, but he’s walked just one in his last nine appearances and given up one run in 14 appearances.       Jason Foley suffered a brutal blown save against the Yankees on Friday night, surrendering hits to all four batters that he faced.

      Advice: Yikes. In what was a terrific pitcher’s duel that had the Tigers leading 1-0 heading to the ninth inning, Foley immediately got off on the wrong foot by allowing a leadoff single to Aaron Judge. Alex Verdugo then dropped down a bunt single with third baseman Zach McKinstry playing back, setting the stage for Giancarlo Stanton. Stanton then ripped an RBI double into right field on the second pitch he saw, and Anthony Rizzo followed with a run-scoring single to walk it off.     • Reese Olson terrific in tough-luck no-decision
      Reese Olson was terrific again in a tough-luck no-decision against the Yankees on Friday night, scattering two hits and two walks over five scoreless innings.

      Advice: The right-hander punched out five batters on the night. While he was able to keep the Yankees’ offense completely at bay, the Tigers were only able to generate one run of support for him, which cost him his victory as Jason Foley imploded in the ninth inning. Olson generated seven whiffs on 88 pitches on the night — four of those on his slider — while registering a CSW of 31 percent. The 24-year-old hurler somehow sits at 0-4 on the season despite a stellar 2.70 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and a 31/13 K/BB ratio over 33 1/3 innings through his first six starts.
