    • Hits game-tying homer
Castellanos went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Angels.

Advice: Castellanos kicked off a three-run ninth inning for Philadelphia, tagging Angels closer Carlos Estevez for a solo home run to knot the game up at 5-5. After starting the season batting .153 with two runs scored in his first 20 games, Castellanos has started to turn the corner, scoring nine times with a .262 batting average since. • Idle versus lefty
Carpenter isn't in the Tigers' lineup versus the Cardinals for the last game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Advice: The Cardinals are starting southpaw Steven Matz on the bump, which sends Carpenter to the bench. With him on the bench, Wenceel Perez will occupy right field and bat seventh. Additionally, Mark Canha has the start as the designated hitter and will bat third. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:33 pm

    • Nick Castellanos goes 0-for-4 in loss to Angels
Nick Castellanos went 0-for-4 in the loss to the Angels on Monday.

Advice: While Castellanos’s track record certainly suggests that he will hit, this has been awfully ugly; he’s batting just .173/.242/.218 through 120 plate appearances. The only players with worse OPSs currently qualified for the batting title are rookie second basemen (Colt Keith and Enmanuel Valdez). Castellanos has always been worse than most in recognizing which pitches to swing at, but his natural talent at putting bat to ball has made up for it. That could be changing at age 32, and the Phillies might have to consider an upgrade in right field at some point. Rotoworld Monday, 10:21 pm
    • Blasts seventh homer
Ward went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Ward followed up Mike Trout's solo homer in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run shot of his own just two batters later, bringing the Angels back within three runs of Baltimore. The outfielder now has five homers and 19 RBI in April, though he's gone just 4-for-26 (.153) at the plate over his last seven games. He's also failed to register multiple hits in any game over that stretch. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:42 am

    • Two-run double in win
Nootbaar went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Nootbaar doubled in his final at-bat of the contest to send home Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt, giving the Cardinals a 4-1 lead. It was the left fielder's fourth extra-base. of the season, and he's now driven in two runs in two of his last three games. Nootbaar has also hit safely in six of his last seven contests. • Gets day off
Carpenter is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Carpenter's absence from the lineup is likely a result of the Rays' plan to deploy southpaw Tyler Alexander as their primary pitcher out of the bullpen. With Carpenter on the bench for the first time since April 9, Riley Greene and Wenceel Perez will occupy the corner-outfield spots while Mark Canha serves as Detroit's designated hitter.
