• Cody Bradford (back) throwing from 120 feet
Cody Bradford (back) is now throwing from a distance of 120 feet as he continues to work his way back from a stress fracture.

Advice: The 26-year-old southpaw is reportedly feeling much better than he was prior to being shut down. There’s still no clear timeline for a potential return, but he should be ready for bullpen work soon. If he’s able to avoid any additional setbacks, he could be an option for the Rangers around the All-Star break. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago

  • Remains in rotation
Vasquez is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks at Petco Park, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Neither Yu Darvish (groin) nor Joe Musgrove (elbow) is eligible to return from the 15-day injured list until next weekend, so Vasquez will unsurprisingly stick around in the San Diego rotation for another turn. After being called up from Triple-A El Paso, Vasquez started in last Saturday's win over the Royals, giving up three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out five in five innings. He maintains a 5.74 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over 26.2 innings in six starts for the big club on the season. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago
  • Ryan Helsley nets 20th save Wednesday vs. Astros
Ryan Helsley struck out two in a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Astros to record his major league-leading 20th save of the season.

Advice: There haven’t been a ton of save opportunities recently for Helsley in recent weeks, with just five chances over the last two weeks. However, he’s converted 20 of his 21 save opportunities this season to accompany a sparkling 2.33 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 29/6 K/BB ratio across 27 innings (27 appearances). He got the call to protect a two-run margin in this one and needed just eight pitches (seven strikes) to slam the door. Rotoworld Today, 1:31 pm
  • Miles Mikolas allows two homers in win over Astros
Miles Mikolas allowed two runs over six innings on Wednesday in a win over the Astros.

Advice: Mikolas struck out three and didn’t hand out a free pass, limiting Houston’s injury-depleted lineup, which was missing both Kyle Tucker (shin) and Alex Bregman (hand) to just five hits with homers from Yainer Diaz and Trey Cabbage accounting for the only damage against him in this one. The 35-year-old veteran right-hander will bring an inflated 5.32 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 53/14 K/BB ratio across 71 innings (13 starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the Pirates. • Ronel Blanco allows four runs in loss to Cards
Ronel Blanco gave up four runs over 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Blanco has cooled off a bit of late after opening the season in dominant fashion, failing to complete six frames in five of his last seven starts since April 27. He gave up five hits, including a solo homer to Nolan Arenado, and finished with only a pair of strikeouts in this one, his lowest single-start total of the year. He’ll bring a solid 2.78 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 59/27 K/BB ratio across 64 2/3 innings (11 starts) into a road matchup on Tuesday against the Giants at Oracle Park. Rotoworld Today, 1:29 pm

  • Nick Pivetta delivers gem in 9-0 win over Braves
Nick Pivetta allowed only one hit over seven innings Wednesday as the Red Sox shut out the Braves 9-0.

Advice: Pivetta fanned nine and walked two in his longest outing of the year. In eight starts this season, he’s been great three times, good three times and bad twice, which probably should have produced something better than a 3-4 record. He might be more valuable for fantasy purposes in the second half of the season, as the Red Sox will likely cash him in before he hits free agency. Rotoworld Today, 1:25 pm

  • Spencer Schwellenbach roughed up by Red Sox
Spencer Schwellenbach surrendered six runs in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Schwellenbach got 15 missed swings on the 85 pitches he threw, but 10 of his 17 balls in play were hit hard, resulting in seven hits. He’s 0-2 with an 8.38 ERA after two starts, so one wonders if he might head back to the minors. If the Braves stick with him, he’d face the Orioles next week. Rotoworld Today, 1:25 pm
  • Impresses again in rehab outing
Boyle (back) started Triple-A Las Vegas' win over El Paso on Tuesday, firing three scoreless innings during which he allowed a hit and issued two walks while recording three strikeouts.

Advice: Boyle worked up to 58 pitches -- 35 of which he located for strikes -- in his second consecutive scoreless multi-inning rehab outing. The right-hander appears to be ready for activation based on his solid body of work over that pair of starts, and an injury-riddled Athletics starting rotation would undoubtedly benefit from his return. • Logs quality start in debut
Mazur didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Angels, allowing one run on two hits and four walks while striking out two over six innings.

Advice: Mazur didn't have his best command Tuesday but was able to limit the damage against him by inducing plenty of weak contact. He allowed four hard-hit balls on the night, and both hits against him went for singles, with one of those being an RBI knock by Luis Rengifo in the third. Aside from the walks, it was an impressive showing from the 23-year-old, who needed only 77 pitches to get through six frames. Mazur figures to get at least another turn through the rotation while the team deals with some injuries and lines up to take the mound over the weekend against the Diamondbacks.
