    • Luis Arraez not in lineup Tuesday vs. Cubs
Luis Arraez is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cubs.

Advice: Arraez takes a seat to open Tuesday’s contest at Wrigley Field with southpaw Shota Imanaga toeing the rubber after starting three consecutive games for San Diego since being acquired over the weekend from the Marlins. The 27-year-old second baseman has five hits and one RBI in 15 at-bats over three contests since being picked up by the Padres. Rotoworld Today, 2:04 pm

    • Idle Tuesday
Arraez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Chicago.

Advice: After starting and batting leadoff in each of his first three appearances with the Padres, Arraez will get the day off Tuesday. While it's possible Arraez could cede work against lefties -- the Padres are facing southpaw Shota Imanaga Tuesday -- Arraez was part of the team's lineup Monday against Justin Steele, who's also left-handed. Manny Machado will DH Tuesday while Donovan Solano starts at third base. Rotowire.com Today, 1:53 pm

    • Jake Burger (oblique) activated off injured list
Marlins activated INF Jake Burger (oblique) off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Burger is back after spending just under three weeks on the injured list with a left oblique strain. He returns to a .228/.281/.421 slash with three homers and 15 RBI in 16 games. He’s hitting third and playing third base Monday, and Jonah Bride was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Burger on the roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:39 pm

    • Back from IL
Burger (oblique) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game against the Dodgers, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: As anticipated, Burger is back with the big club after missing the last few weeks rehabbing from a left intercostal strain. He was a big piece of the Marlins' offense before landing on the IL, recording three homers, 15 RBI and eight runs scored over his first 16 games of the 2024 season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:35 pm

    • Report: Royals reached out to ask for Arraez
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports that the Royals contacted the Marlins last week to discuss trading for Luis Arraez before the infielder was dealt to the Padres

Advice: Rosenthal was quick to note that those talks “never advanced beyond the preliminary stage"; however, it’s interesting that the Royals even made the phone call because it tells us that the team is looking to capitalize on their fast start to the season which sees them just 2.5 games behind the Guardians in the AL Central. However, another interesting aspect of this is where the Royals may be looking to upgrade. Michael Massey has been pretty good at second base since coming off the IL and Vinnie Pasquantino is locked in at first base, so the Royals must have felt that Arraez could fill the DH spot, which means either Nelson Velazquez or Hunter Renfroe could be on notice in the midst of a slow start to the season. • Provides lone run in loss
Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Ozuna was the only Atlanta player with multiple hits as well as the only one with an extra-base hit in Sunday's loss. He took James Paxton deep to right center in the seventh for his first long ball since April 21. He's now back tied atop the leaderboard with 10 home runs on the year and leads all of baseball with 33 RBI. Ozuna is slashing .306/.382/.603 with 16 extra-base hits, 21 runs and a 15:27 BB:K in 136 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:42 am

    • Expected to return Monday
Burger (oblique) joined the Marlins in Los Angeles and is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's series opener versus the Dodgers, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Advice: On the shelf since April 15 with a left intercostal strain, Burger looks to have checked out fine after completing the final phase of his recovery process this past week, when he joined Triple-A Jacksonville for a rehab assignment. He played in three games for Jacksonville, going 3-for-11 with two runs, two walks and one RBI in addition to playing nine innings at first base and 18 innings at third base. Once activated, Burger should immediately settle back in as the Marlins' everyday option at the hot corner, resulting in Vidal Brujan and Emmanuel Rivera losing out on playing time. • Sends game into extra frame
Heim went 1-for-3 with a walk and solo home run in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals.

Advice: Heim knotted the game at two runs apiece with a ninth-inning home run that set the stage for Nathaniel Lowe's game-winning single in the 10th. For Heim, it was his fourth homer and first in 12 games. He's appeared in 29 of the team's first 35 games, which is a lot for a catcher whose bat has tailed off in August and September in each of the past two seasons. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:11 am

    • Homers in blowout win
Westburg went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 11-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Westburg did his damage early, lifting a two-run blast in the first inning. He had gone 0-for-7 over the first two games of the weekend series in Cincinnati. The homer was his first since April 21 and his sixth of the year. The infielder has added a strong .286/.336/.513 slash line with 23 RBI, 18 runs scored, four steals, five doubles and two triples through 32 contests. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:05 pm
