      Advice: Though his long ball didn't travel nearly as far, Freeman followed Shohei Ohtani in the first inning Monday as the pair slugged back-to-back homers. Freeman has yet to fully flex his power this season -- he has just three homers through 167 plate appearances -- but he's been otherwise productive, as usual, with a .292/.407/.445 slash line, 21 RBI, 18 runs and a stolen base.       Advice: Clase turned in a third consecutive perfect outing, throwing merely nine pitches to earn his 11th save of 2024.       Freddie Freeman hit a solo homer in a victory Monday over the Marlins.

      Advice: Freeman went back-to-back with Shohei Ohtani, and his solo blast gave the Dodgers a 3-2 lead. The 34-year-old hasn’t shown a ton of pop in the early portion of the year, as it’s just the third homer for the veteran first baseman in 2024.       Buxton (knee) has been running in a pool and participating in his normal workouts, but has not been swinging a bat, Dan Hayes of the TheAthletic.com reports.

      Advice: An MRI on Buxton's injured right knee Thursday showed only inflammation and no structural damage. Buxton is optimistic he can return when eligible to come off the IL on May 12.     • Drops appeal, serving five-game ban
      Peralta dropped his appeal of a five-game suspension and will be begin serving the ban Monday.

      Advice: Peralta was handed the suspension for intentionally throwing at the Rays' Jose Siri in an 8-2 win over Tampa Bay last Tuesday. The right-hander was ejected from that contest, but after appealing the five-game ban, Peralta took the hill Sunday on normal rest and was dealt the loss in the Brewers' series finale with the Cubs. With Peralta ending his appeal, he won't be able to make his next turn through the rotation that would have fallen Friday versus the Cardinals, though he could make his next start as soon as Saturday.       Josh Lowe is starting in right field and batting third for the Rays against the White Sox on Monday.

      Advice: The Rays are wasting no time throwing Lowe right back into the heart of the order and against right-handed Mike Clevinger, that shouldn’t be a huge surprise. However, the Rays are also set to face just one left-handed pitcher in their next 10 games, so it should be a bit of a softer landing spot for Lowe, who has been on the bench at times against lefties in the past.       Advice: Lowe originally went on the IL prior to Opening Day with an oblique strain and more recently dealt with a hamstring issue during his minor-league rehab assignment. He's healthy now after resuming his rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham this past Thursday and is finally ready for his 2024 Rays debut following a nearly six-week absence.       Rays activated OF Josh Lowe from the 10-day injured list.

      Advice: Lowe began the season on the IL with an oblique injury and his return briefly delayed due to a hamstring injury, but he’s finally ready to join the Rays’ lineup.       Lowe (hamstring) went 3-for-8 with two home runs in consecutive rehab appearances for Triple-A Durham on Saturday and Sunday.

      Advice: Since resuming his rehab appearance with Durham on May, Lowe had gone 3-for-14 with seven strikeouts prior to Saturday's game, when he slugged both of his home runs. His ability to hit for power was a positive sign, though he did strike out four times between Saturday and Sunday. Nevertheless, Rays manager Kevin Cash said that Lowe's results were a step in the right direction, per MLB.com.
