    • Byron Buxton homers twice, Twins demolish Nats
Byron Buxton went 2-for-5 with two homers and three RBI on Tuesday, powering the Twins to a 10-0 blowout victory over the Nationals.

Advice: Buxton helped Minnesota snap a seven-game losing streak with a 10-run explosion highlighted by his 11th career multi-homer performance. The 30-year-old center fielder has undeniably gotten off to an ice-cold start at the plate this season, but he’s shown some signs of life since returning from the injured list earlier this week. He took Nationals starter Patrick Corbin deep in the second and fifth innings, respectively, to spearhead the Twins’ offensive outburst. We’re not going to draw too many conclusions from a single contest, but this certainly feels like it has the potential to be a confidence-booster for Buxton moving forward. • Joe Ryan tosses seven scoreless to beat Nats
Joe Ryan struck out six over seven shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Nationals.

Advice: Ryan’s velocity was up across the board as his four-seam fastball had a little bit of extra life on it, which led to an impressive eight swinging strikes and a near-elite 39 percent CSW. He limited Washington’s lineup to just three hits and a pair of walks over seven stellar frames. The 27-year-old righty will bring a strong 3.15 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 64/9 K/BB ratio across 60 innings (10 starts) into a home outing on Monday against the division-rival Royals. • Patrick Corbin lit up for eight runs in loss
Patrick Corbin was obliterated for a season-high eight runs over six innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Twins.

Advice: Corbin was shelled for a staggering nine hits, including three homers, by Minnesota’s suddenly surging offense. He struck out three and also issued three walks. The 34-year-old lefty had been pitching well of late until this disastrous outing. He’s been off the fantasy radar for a few years at this point and there’s been zero indication that’s going to change. He’ll face the Braves on Monday his next time out. • Exits with hamstring injury
Jimenez was removed from Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays with a left hamstring strain.

Advice: Jimenez appeared to be limping after scoring from second base during the fifth inning of Tuesday's contest, and Gavin Sheets later replaced him as Chicago's DH during the seventh. The severity of Jimenez's injury remains unclear, but the White Sox will take a closer look at him and should offer more information on his status after the game. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

    • X-rays negative
X-rays on Fraley's right hand came back negative Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Fraley is reportedly dealing with swelling after taking a pitch off his hand during the first inning of Tuesday's contest, but he seems to have avoided a serious injury. The Reds will re-evaluate his hand Wednesday, but it's likely the 28-year-old outfielder sits out a game or two in order to recover. Rotowire.com Today, 5:28 pm

    • X-rays negative on Jake Fraley’s right hand
X-rays came back negative on Jake Fraley’s right hand.

Advice: The positive news here is that Fraley didn’t suffer a fracture when he was hit by a pitch on the right hand during Tuesday’s game against the Padres. The 28-year-old is dealing with some inflammation and will be re-evaluated on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Today, 5:25 pm

    • Excels in first Double-A start
Bubic (elbow) struck out three and allowed one hit and zero walks over three scoreless innings in his rehab start Sunday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

Advice: After a trio of abbreviated rehab outings in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, Bubic shifted his assignment to the Double-A level over the weekend and was unfazed by higher-caliber competition. He needed just 36 pitches to retire nine batters, doing so while allowing just one baserunner. Bubic's 30-day rehab window will come to a close in the first week of June, but the Royals haven't yet decided what role he'll fill once he's activated from the 60-day injured list. While he looks as though he'll get stretched out for starting duty in the minors, Bubic could have to settle for a long-relief role upon his activation if No. 5 starter Alec Marsh continues to thrive at the back end of the Kansas City rotation. • Report: Nick Nastrini coming back up this week
The Chicago Sun-Times’ Daryl Van Schouwen reports Nick Nastrini will be recalled to start this week for the White Sox.

Advice: Nastrini was roughed up for six runs (five earned) over three innings back on April 21 and has allowed eight runs (seven earned) with an 8/7 K/BB ratio across eight innings (two starts) this season in the big leagues. The 24-year-old rookie is talented and offers some intrigue, but hasn’t proven he can be trusted for fantasy purposes yet. Rotoworld Today, 5:12 pm

    • Cleared to play catch
Matz (back) was cleared to resume playing catch Tuesday, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: Matz has been shut down from throwing since receiving a second pain-killing injection in his lower back May 12. The Cardinals haven't set a return timeline for the 32-year-old lefty, though a clearer picture may emerge once he gets back to throwing off a mound. Rotowire.com Today, 5:10 pm
