    • Earns second straight win
Garrett (2-0) earned the win Wednesday over the Padres, allowing a run on six hits over five innings. He struck out two.

Advice: A Ha-Seong Kim homer in the third inning was the lone damage against Garrett, as the left-hander earned a second straight win -- he's allowed just one run on nine hits over 14 innings in that span after allowing 11 runs in his first two outings this season. Garrett's ERA is down to 4.56 with a 1.06 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB through his first 23.2 innings this year. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Rays in his next start. • Headed for MRI
Manoah will receive an MRI on his right elbow Thursday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Manoah allowed one hit and struck out three batters in 1.2 innings Wednesday versus the White Sox before right elbow discomfort forced him out of the game early. The Blue Jays will wait for the results of his MRI before making any decisions, but there is a chance the 26-year-old righty will require a trip to the injured list. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:42 pm

    • Alek Manoah (elbow) set to undergo MRI on Thursday
Blue Jays’ manager John Schneider told reporters after Wednesday’s game that Alek Manoah will undergo an MRI exam on his injured right elbow on Thursday.

Advice: Manoah suffered the injury during the second inning of his start against the White Sox on Wednesday. The 26-year-old hurler has pitched well in his five starts for the Jays this season, compiling a 3.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 26/8 K/BB ratio across 24 1/3 innings. Expect the Jays to provide another update on his status — and perhaps a timeline for his return — after Thursday’s exam. All fantasy managers can do in the meantime is hope for the best. • Bryse Wilson gives up four runs in no-decision
Bryse Wilson allowed four runs -- two earned -- with one strikeout over four innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Advice: Wilson worked a clean first inning, then gave up a solo homer to Ian Happ in the second. Happ would reach base once again in the fourth and advanced to third on a balk before a groundout brought him in to score the second run. An error and a base hit to start the fifth chased Wilson from the game with two runners on and no outs at 82 pitches. While both inherited runners would score, on two runs on the day were earned. The 26-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.00 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 39/19 K/BB ratio across 48 innings. He’s set to take on the Phillies in Philadelphia on Monday. • Kutter Crawford struggles again in loss to O’s
Kutter Crawford struggled again in Wednesday’s loss to the Orioles, giving up five runs on four hits over six innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander punched out five batters on the night while issuing a pair of walks. All of the scoring against him came in the second inning, as Ramon Urias smacked an RBI single and then Gunnar Henderson changed the game with a 422-foot grand slam. Crawford rebounded nicely to finish the day with four scoreless frames, but the damage had already been done. The 28-year-old hurler got 10 swings and misses on 96 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 22 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he carries a 3.29 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and a 66/22 K/BB ratio (68 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Braves. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:06 pm

    • Alek Manoah leaves start with right elbow issue
Alek Manoah was pulled from Wednesday’s start against the White Sox due to discomfort in his right elbow.

Advice: Ugh, that’s never what you want to hear. The 26-year-old hurler had been pitching well too — allowing just one hit and striking out three batters over his first 1 2/3 innings. He’ll head for additional tests and imaging to determine the severity of the issue, but you would have to think that a trip to the injured list is coming. It’s a tough break for someone who worked so hard to claw his way back to the Blue Jays’ rotation. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:03 pm

    • Braxton Garrett nets victory Wednesday vs. Padres
Braxton Garrett allowed one run over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Padres.

Advice: Garrett followed up a complete-game performance his last time out against the Diamondbacks by continuing his tour of the NL West, limiting San Diego’s lineup to just a third-inning solo shot from Ha-Seong Kim over five frames to collect his fourth win of the season. He struck out two and didn’t hand out a free pass. He’ll carry a 4.56 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 21/3 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings (four starts) into a home outing next Wednesday against the strikeout-prone Rays. Given his recent performance, he should be rostered in all fantasy formats. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:41 pm

    • Exits with trainer
Manoah was removed from Wednesday's game against the White Sox in the second inning due right elbow discomfort.

Advice: The severity of Manoah's injury isn't immediately apparent, but it was enough to warrant his removal after recording just five outs Wednesday. He is tentatively scheduled to pitch again Tuesday against the Orioles, though a clearer picture of his status for that game will come once the Jays are able to take a closer look at him. • Sharp again Wednesday
Sanchez (3-3) earned the win Wednesday, holding the Giants to four hits and one walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: It was another impressive effort from Sanchez, who's now held opponents to two runs or fewer in eight of his 11 starts this season. The 27-year-old left-hander lowered his ERA to 2.83 with a 1.39 WHIP and 56:20 K:BB across 60.1 innings. Sanchez will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently slated for early next week against Milwaukee. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:12 pm
