    • Lane Thomas starting rehab assignment in Double-A
Lane Thomas (knee) is beginning a rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Harrisburg.

Advice: Thomas has been on the injured list since near the end of April due to a sprained left MCL. The outfielder will likely need a week or so of rehab appearances, but then could return to the Washington lineup near the end of May. Thomas got off to a slow start prior to the injury, but was a solid fantasy option in 2023. Rotoworld Today, 5:43 am

    • Picks up steal Monday
Goldschmidt went 0-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 6-3 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Goldschmidt's hitting streak came to an end at eight games, but he was still able to provide a contribution in his lone trip on base Monday. The first baseman's streak has helped to get him out of deep slump, though he's still hitting just .209 on the season. He's added a meager .592 OPS with four home runs, 16 RBI, 23 runs scored and three steals over 198 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:04 pm
    • Blows save against Miami
Megill blew the save in Monday's loss to the Marlins. He allowed one run on two hits and no walks over one inning while striking out one.

Advice: Megill gathered the first two outs of the ninth inning on three pitches before yielding a single to Nick Gordon. Gordon promptly stole second and then was subsequently driven home via an Otto Lopez single to tie the game. This is Megill's first blown save of the season, so he should maintain his role as the Milwaukee closer. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:12 pm
    • Likely headed for IL
Ross (back) is expected to require a stint on the 15-day injured list, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Ross was forced out of his start Monday against the Marlins after his back tightened up, and he was later diagnosed with a low back strain. The club will likely wait to see how he responds Tuesday before making an official roster move. Milwaukee is already thin when it comes to starting pitching, so the team will once again be forced to turn to their farm system for help. Aaron Ashby and Tobias Myers are candidates to enter the rotation if it's confirmed that Ross requires a trip to the IL. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:04 pm

    • Trevor Megill takes blown save Monday vs. Marlins
Trevor Megill allowed one run in the ninth inning on Monday against the Marlins in a blown save.

Advice: Megill got the call to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning and wound up surrendering a game-tying single to Otto Lopez with two outs in the frame. It was only his first blown save of the season in seven opportunities. The 30-year-old righty figures to continue serving as Milwaukee’s primary stopper until Devin Williams is ready to return sometime around midseason. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:03 pm
    • Joe Ross likely to land on IL with strained back
Joe Ross will likely require an IL stint after leaving Monday’s game with a back strain.

Advice: It appears that the Brewers are invested in giving Bradley Blalock a look as a reliever, so Tobias Myers might be the choice to step in for Ross. Blalock would be more interesting, though. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:56 pm

    • Joe Ross departs game with back strain
Joe Ross left Monday’s game because of a strained lower back, according to the Brewers.

Advice: Definitely better than some of the alternatives. The Brewers are off Thursday, so if Ross feels better quickly, the team might not need to replace him in the rotation. If he does go on the IL, either Bradley Blalock or Tobias Myers could replace him in the rotation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:29 pm

    • Exits start early
Ross was removed from Monday's start against the Marlins after one scoreless inning due to back tightness, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Advice: Ross was reportedly dealing with some back tightness before Monday's start, but he felt good enough to give it a go after warming up. However, his back tightened back up during a 15-pitch first inning, and he's been officially diagnosed with a low back strain. Jared Koenig was called upon out of the bullpen following the right-hander's departure and will likely be asked to eat up a few frames. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:15 pm

    • Joe Ross leaves game after one inning
Joe Ross exited Monday’s game after the first inning with an undisclosed injury.

Advice: Jared Koenig replaced Ross against the Marlins. Assuming that this is an IL-type situation, perhaps Bradley Blalock could join the rotation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:12 pm
