    • Trevor Megill snags 12th save
Trevor Megill closed out a 3-1 win over the Reds for his 12th save of the season.

Advice: It wasn’t a flawless inning for Megill, who did allow a walk, a hit, and a run; however, he got the job done. He now has a 2.25 ERA on the season and has been a steadying presence for the Brewers at the end of games. Even though he will lose his job as closer when Devin Williams returns, he’ll remain a valuable reliever for the Brewers and needs to simply be held in fantasy leagues because you’re unlikely to get much trying to trade him away when everybody knows his time accruing saves is coming to a close within the month. • Allows three runs in no-decision
Sandoval did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Giants, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks with five strikeouts over five innings.

Advice: Sandoval surrendered a two-run home run to Heliot Ramos in a 31-pitch first inning then allowed a run on a double by Ramos in the fifth. Sandoval left the game after five frames with a 3-1 deficit before Logan O'Hoppe tied the game on a homer in the sixth. Sandoval has alternated good starts with bad starts throughout most of the season and now owns a 5.24 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 80:33 K:BB in 15 outings. He tentatively lines up to face the Dodgers next week. Rotowire.com 55 minutes ago
    • Secures save Saturday
Megill notched a save against the Reds on Saturday, allowing one run on one hit and one walk in one inning.

Advice: A trio of Milwaukee pitchers combined to shut out Cincinnati over eight innings before the ball was handed to Megill for the ninth. The right-hander didn't make things easy, issuing a walk and a run-scoring double before getting his first out, but he was ultimately able to slam the door for the save. Megill has been great in his first venture as a closer this season, going 12-for-13 in save tries while posting a 2.25 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB over 20 innings. He appears to have a firm grasp on ninth-inning duties for the Brewers, at least until Devin Williams (back) is able to return from the injured list, potentially in the latter half of July. • Bryse Wilson effective as follower in win
Bryse Wilson threw 5 1/3 innings as a bulk reliever in a win over the Reds on Saturday, striking out six and walking two.

Advice: Wilson didn’t miss many bats with just five whiffs on 33 swings for a 15 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW. He didn’t allow an extra-base hit on the day and now carries a 3.84 ERA into a game against the Padres next week. He’ll be more interesting in fantasy leagues if he continues to operate as a bulk reliever, but he’ll still be tough to trust against in that one. Rotoworld Today, 7:29 pm

    • Earns victory in bulk-relief role
Wilson (4-3) earned the win over Cincinnati on Saturday, pitching 5.1 scoreless innings during which he allowed three hits and two walks while striking out six batters.

Advice: Milwaukee opted to have Jared Koenig open the contest, and he notched two outs before Wilson entered with a runner on first base in the first inning. The right-hander closed that frame successfully, then kept the Reds off the scoreboard for five more innings before turning the game over to the bullpen. Wilson's excellent outing earned him his first victory since May 24. After opening the campaign in the bullpen, Wilson has been bouncing between a traditional starting role and bulk relief lately, and in either capacity he's pitched pretty well, giving up three or fewer earned runs in all but one of his 17 appearances -- including 10 that have been of four or more innings -- this season. • Homers again in win
Thomas went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in a 4-0 win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Thomas doubled and scored a run in the first inning then added a solo home run in the third. The home run was Thomas' second in as many days, and he now has a nine-game hit streak dating back to June 6. Since returning from a knee injury on May 27, Thomas is hitting .301 with four home runs and five stolen bases in 73 at-bats. Rotowire.com Today, 6:35 pm
    • Dominates in first major-league win
Herz (1-1) earned the win against the Marlins on Saturday, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out 13 over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Herz was perfect other than a single by Jake Burger in the fifth and cruised to his first major-league win. In only his third career start, Herz registered a whopping 21 swinging strikes on 84 pitches. According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, he is only the second pitcher in history to record 13 strikeouts and no walks in one of his first three career outings. Herz's minor-league 12.9 K/9 indicates he has real potential to rack up punchouts, and he now owns a 3.77 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 21 strikeouts in his 14.1 innings for the Nationals in 2024. He tentatively lines up to face the Rockies at Coors Field next week. Rotowire.com Today, 6:16 pm

    • Patrick Sandoval gives up three runs in no-decision
Patrick Sandoval allowed three runs with five strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision against the Giants on Saturday.

Advice: Sandoval served up a two-run homer to Heliot Ramos in the first inning. He settled in to toss three scoreless frames before Ramos got to him in the fifth, bringing a run home to score on a double. Sandoval would be done after five innings at 98 pitches, striking out five. The 27-year-old left-hander will take a 5.24 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and an 80/33 K/BB ratio across 77 1/3 innings into a road start against the Dodgers on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 3:51 pm
    • Not close to returning
Muncy (oblique) is at least a week away from swinging a bat and doesn't have a timeline for return, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Muncy's recovery from a right oblique strain has been unexpectedly slow, and he doesn't seem particularly close to returning. The 33-year-old hasn't swung a bat in a few weeks and won't be cleared for swings for at least another week, all but ruling out a June return. Recently acquired Cavan Biggio and Enrique Hernandez should handle most of the work at third base until Muncy returns. Rotowire.com Today, 3:45 pm
