    • Homers Thursday
Kepler went 2-for-4 with a home run, two total RBI and two total runs scored in Thursday's 11-1 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Kepler extended his hitting streak to 11 games -- he's recorded at least one hit in 15 of his last 16 contests, going 23-for-53 (.434) in that span. It's been quite a start to the year for the 31-year-old Kepler. He's now slashing .329/.390/.562 with three homers, 14 RBI and 11 runs scored through his first 21 games. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

    • Tagged for eight runs
Gilbert (3-1) took the loss Thursday against the Twins, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Five of Minnesota's runs came in the first inning, including three on a Manuel Margot double. Gilbert hadn't allowed more than two earned runs in his last five starts, recording quality starts in six of his previous seven outings. His ERA went from 1.69 to 2.94 after Thursday with a 0.94 WHIP and 54:15 K:BB across 52 innings. Gilbert will look to get back on track in his next turn in the rotation, currently scheduled for next week against Kansas City. Rotowire.com 36 minutes ago

    • Max Kepler homers as Twins rout Mariners
Max Kepler went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored Thursday in a rout of the Mariners.

Advice: Kepler blistered a solo shot off Tyson Miller in the seventh inning. The 31-year-old has gone deep three times this year, and the pair of knocks sees his slash improve to .329/.390/.562. There’s still three-quarters of the year to be played, but Kepler is enjoying easily his best MLB season thus far in 2024. Rotoworld Today, 1:04 pm

    • Logan Gilbert allows eight over four against Twins
Logan Gilbert was shelled for eight runs in four innings while picking up a loss to the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: Gilbert allowed nine hits with two walks while adding for strikeouts. To say the right-hander was a disappointment was an understatement, as he entered this outing with a sensational 1.69 ERA over 48 innings. That ERA immediately took a hit with five runs allowed in the first, and three more crossed the plate before ending his 91-pitch day. The Twins are on fire and Gilbert was due for a poor outing, but this is still not one fantasy managers could have seen coming. He’ll be back on the bump against the Royals on Tuesday. • Goes deep Wednesday
Adell went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a additional RBI in Wednesday's 5-4 victory versus the Pirates.

Advice: Adell put the Angels on the board with a solo shot to center field in the third inning, and he added a run-scoring single in the fifth. He finished with his first multi-hit game since April 27. With Mike Trout set to miss extended time due to knee surgery, Adell has become a near-everyday starter in the outfield. However, he's struggled so far this month, slashing .125/.185/.250 with seven strikeouts over seven games, though he does have three RBI and a pair of steals. Rotowire.com Today, 12:05 pm

    • Receiving rest day
Chapman is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Chapman will take a seat for the first time since April 20 in what likely amounts to a maintenance day as the Giants and Rockies wrap up their series with a day game after a night game. Wilmer Flores will fill in at the hot corner for Chapman, who has seen his performance both in the field and at the plate take a step back in 2024 since signing with the Giants in March. He enters Thursday's contest with a .601 OPS, the lowest mark of any season in his career by more than 100 points (.717 in 2021 with Oakland). Rotowire.com Today, 9:34 am

    • Able to throw
Pepiot (leg) was able to play catch Wednesday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Pepiot was placed on the injured list the same day, so he'll be out until at least May 21. However, he has stated that he plans to return after a minimum stint sidelined, and his ability to continue to throw suggests he'll be back quickly. Rotowire.com Today, 8:59 am

    • Struggles to find plate Wednesday
Ashcraft (3-2) took the loss Wednesday, giving up three runs on six hits and three walks over five-plus innings as the Reds fell 4-3 to the Diamondbacks. He struck out two.

Advice: After back-to-back quality starts, Ashcraft took a step backwards Wednesday, walking more batters than he struck out for the first time this season and managing only 14 called or swinging strikes among his 86 pitches. The 26-year-old right-hander has still had a solid first month-plus of the campaign, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 32:12 K:BB through 39.2 innings. He lines up for a rematch with the D'backs in Arizona early next week. Rotowire.com Today, 6:57 am
    • Sets record in twin bill
Langeliers went 5-for-9 with a double, a triple, two home runs, a third run scored and eight RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the Rangers.

Advice: The 26-year-old backstop fell a single short of a cycle in the matinee while driving in five runs, and Langeliers then launched his second long ball of the day in the second inning of the nightcap off Jack Leiter. Langeliers' eight RBI were the most ever by an Oakland player in a doubleheader, breaking the record of seven set by Reggie Jackson in 1969. Langeliers has produced multiple hits with a homer in three of his last four games, but the surge has only brought his batting average up to .209 (24-for-115). He is supplying some big-time power, however. Through 34 contests, he's slugged nine homers with 24 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 6:27 am
