• Sonny Gray chased early in loss to Reds
Sonny Gray allowed six runs -- three earned -- with six strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Gray had worked through two scoreless innings to start the game before the Reds strung together three straight doubled to start the third inning, driving in two runs. A triple, a walk, and a hit batter loaded the bases with one out in the fifth. A fielding error would bring a run in and keep the bases loaded as Gray was relieved at 92 pitches. All inherited runners would come in to score. The 34-year-old right-hander will look to put this one behind him when he takes a 2.98 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and a 109/23 K/BB ratio across 87 2/3 innings into a road start against the Nationals on Friday. • Back in action
Rutschman (hand) is starting at catcher and batting second Saturday against the Rangers.

Advice: Rutschman was given a day off Friday after he played through a right hand injury Thursday, and he seems to be feeling better ahead of Saturday's contest. Over his last 10 games, the 26-year-old backstop has gone 15-for-40 with a home run, two RBI and seven runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 1:34 pm

  • Adley Rutschman (hand) returns to lineup Saturday
Adley Rutschman (hand) returned to the Orioles’ starting lineup on Saturday.

Advice: The 26-year-old backstop sat out Friday’s game due to soreness in his right hand, but he’s right back out there behind the dish to catch Cade Povich on Saturday night. Rutschman is enjoying another tremendous season at the plate, slashing .300/.351/.479 with 15 homers, 55 RBI and one stolen base through his first 77 games. Rotoworld Today, 1:26 pm

  • Resting versus LHP
Carroll isn't in Arizona's lineup for Saturday's game against Oakland.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Carroll will take a seat Saturday with fellow left-hander Hogan Harris slated to start on the mound. Lourdes Gurriel, Jake McCarthy and Randal Grichuk will start across the D-backs' outfield while Carroll rests. Rotowire.com Today, 11:09 am

  • Corbin Carroll sits Saturday against southpaw
Corbin Carroll is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Athletics.

Advice: It appears to be a routine off day for Carroll with lefty Hogan Harris drawing the starting assignment on Saturday afternoon for Oakland. The 23-year-old’s sophomore campaign hasn’t gone as planned, but he’s shown some signs of life over the last few weeks, batting .253 (22-for-87) with eight extra-base hits (zero homers) and five steals since June 1. The complete lack of over-the-fence pop at the moment remains a massive concern for fantasy managers moving forward. Rotoworld Today, 10:06 am

  • Three hits Friday
Rafaela started at shortstop and went 3-for-4 with a double in Friday's 9-2 loss to San Diego.

Advice: Rafaela is having a productive June, but he entered the game on a 1-for-18 run. The multi-hit effort was his eighth of the month, and the infielder/outfielder is batting .417 (20-for-48) over the last 13 games. This was his third consecutive start at shortstop, as manager Alex Cora adjusts to get his hottest bats in the lineup: Jarren Duran slotted in at center field while David Hamilton manned second base. • Dropped in order against lefty
Carroll batted seventh and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Carroll was dropped from the top of the order to seventh against a left-hander, though it's unclear if this was a specific adjustment for one game or part of a larger plan going forward against lefties. Carroll appeared to put a season-opening slump behind him earlier this month but was 3-for-22 (.136) over seven games entering Friday. It seems odd that manager Torey Lovullo would drop him after a one-week slump. More should be learned Saturday, when the A's scheduled starter is lefty Hogan Harris. Rotowire.com Today, 7:00 am

  • Luis Arraez returns to lineup Friday vs. Red Sox
Luis Arraez (hand) returned to the lineup for Friday’s game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Arraez wound up sitting out just one contest after suffering a hand injury earlier this week. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward for fantasy managers, but we’re contractually obligated to note it here. Rotoworld Today, 6:17 am
  • Smacks homer in loss
Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Ramirez is up to six homers and 16 RBI over 21 contests in June while hitting .294 (25-for-85) for the month. The third baseman opened the scoring Friday, but the Royals poured on seven runs before the Guardians had a response. Overall, Ramirez continues to provide elite all-around production with 22 homers, 73 RBI, 62 runs scored, 15 stolen bases and a .278/.332/.547 slash line through 77 contests.
