• Lively gives up four in loss to Blue Jays Sunday
Ben Lively allowed four runs in four innings and got the loss against the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Advice: Lively gave up six hits, walked three and struck out four. He had won his last five starts. Lively had allowed two runs through the first four innings. He was removed after walking Spencer Horwitz and Davis Schneider to begin the fifth inning. Both runners scored on Daulton Varsho’s grand slam off Nick Sandlin. Lively isn’t as good as his 3.02 ERA suggests given his 4.15 xFIP. He’s benefited greatly from an 85 percent left on base percentage and that caught it up with him a little bit on Sunday. He’s still been a really good find off the waiver wire for fantasy managers. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays at home next week.

  • Zach Eflin strikes out seven in no-decision
Zach Eflin allowed three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings on Sunday against the Braves. He allowed seven hits while walking one and striking out seven.

Advice: Eflin continues to flash the brilliance he showed last season while faltering in key moments. He cruised through five innings after a lead-off home run by Jarred Kelenic but unraveled with two outs in the sixth. It’s frustrating to see him fall one out shy of the quality start while the bullpen blew his win despite objectively pitching well against Atlanta. His ERA sits at 4.12 on the season. • Miles Mikolas keeps Cubs in check, earns win
Miles Mikolas allowed one earned run across 6 ⅔ on Sunday in a 2-1 win over the Cubs. He struck out five and didn’t walk a batter.

Advice: Mikolas cruised against the scuffling Cubs on Sunday. The only run on his ledger was an inherited runner that came around after he was yanked and had a fantastic start overall. His command was fantastic as he mixed his four-seamer and sinker evenly keeping the ball off the Cubs’ hitters’ barrels. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago

  • Parker picks up fifth win against Marlins Sunday
Mitchell Parker allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Nationals’ 3-1 victory over the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: Parker gave up six hits, walked none and struck out three. The win was his fifth of the year. It was also Parker’s fifth quality start in 12 starts this year. His ERA is 3.06 on the year despite a 4.02 xFIP. Parker does everything well except get a lot of strikeouts. He has a 42 percent ground ball percentage. Parker’s allowed 0.80 HR/9 and 2.00 BB/9. He’s doing everything he can to prop up an 18 percent strikeout percentage, which gives him a fragile profile. The 24-year-old left-hander is set to face the Rockies on the road next week.

  • Jameson Taillon works quality start Sunday
Jameson Taillon worked six solid innings on Sunday against the Cardinals allowing just two earned runs. He scattered seven hits, walked two, and struck out three in a loss.

Advice: The Cardinals made plenty of hard contact off Taillon who kept finding ways to wiggle out of jams and keep runs off the board. He’s put together a solid season despite routinely low strikeout totals by mixing his five pitches and avoiding free passes. He’ll take a 3.08 ERA into his next start against the Mets. • Shut down with lat injury
The Dodgers placed Grove on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a right lat injury, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Advice: Grove presumably sustained the injury during his two-inning relief appearance in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Royals. He gave up a run in the outing for a third consecutive appearance and now holds a 5.06 ERA over 37.1 innings on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 12:36 pm

  • Matz (back) strikes out five in rehab start
Steven Metz (back) threw three scoreless innings and struck out five in a rehab start for Double-A Springfield.

Advice: That’s his third rehab start as he works his way back from the back injury. He didn’t allow a baserunner and showed off his swing-and-miss stuff; albeit against Double-A hitters. Matz could make one more rehab start, but he looks ready to rejoin the St. Louis rotation as well. Rotoworld Today, 12:35 pm

  • Michael Grove (lat) heading to injured list
Dodgers placed RHP Michael Grove on the 15-day injured list with a right intercostal strain.

Advice: Grove joins Yoshinobu Yamamoto (triceps) on the injured list prior to Sunday’s finale against the Royals. Grove will be out at least two weeks, but a more firm timetable should be provided in the coming days. Rotoworld Today, 11:54 am

  • Recalled from Triple-A
Winn was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Winn will return to provide depth to a bullpen that was needed for six innings behind Nathan Eovaldi on Saturday. Jesus Tinoco was designated for assignment to make room for Winn, who has posted a 6.91 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB in 11 appearances (14.1 innings) for the Rangers so far this season.
