    • Heads to bench Sunday
Bauers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Bauers is on the bench for the series finale, but after producing a .400/.571/.900 slash line with two stolen bases while starting in each of the past four games, he may have moved back into a near-everyday role. Jackson Chourio -- who had been benched for the past four games -- will rejoin the starting nine and replace Bauers in the corner outfield. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:35 am

    • Taking seat Sunday
Lipscomb is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Lipscomb had started each of the Nationals' last seven games, but he recorded just three hits in 20 at-bats with five walks against four strikeouts over that stretch. Since his April 24 promotion from Triple-A Rochester, Lipscomb is getting on base at a .370 clip over 15 games, but he isn't hitting for much power (.283 slugging percentage). He still looks to be the Nationals' primary third baseman for now, but Lipscomb could be at risk of losing out on some playing time if Washington wants to open up regular work for Joey Gallo (shoulder) when he likely returns from the 10-day injured list during the upcoming week. • Christopher Morel (knee) back in lineup Sunday
Christopher Morel (knee) is hitting fifth and playing third base against the Pirates.

Advice: Morel left Saturday’s game with right knee soreness, but it was purely precautionary, and he’ll get the start against the Bucs on Sunday. Morel has played relatively well in May with four homers, but his .220 average on the season is a bit of a disappointment. Rotoworld Sunday, 8:20 am

    • Back in action Sunday
Morel (knee) will start at third base and bat cleanup Sunday against the Pirates.

Advice: Morel exited in the fifth inning of Saturday's 10-9 loss to Pittsburgh with right knee soreness after he appeared to get hurt on a stolen base attempt in the top of the third. The injury looks to be a minor one, however, given that the 24-year-old is back in the lineup a day later. Morel has gone 8-for-34 with four home runs, 11 RBI and two stolen bases in May. • Smacks key homer
Joe went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Saturday against the Cubs.

Advice: Joe lifted a three-run home run in the third inning, his fourth long ball of the campaign. He's hit well overall this season, which has helped him move from a short-side platoon role to a role as a near-everyday player. Joe has started eight of Pittsburgh's last 10 games, filling in for Rowdy Tellez at first base against lefties and for Michael Taylor in the outfield against righties. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:15 am

    • Records fourth steal
Bauers went 1-for-2 with a walk, a hit-by-pitch, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Bauers got plunked by St. Louis starter Kyle Gibson in the third inning to force in the first run of the game. After losing playing time to Tyler Black earlier in the month, Bauers has gotten in the lineup for four straight games, going 4-for-10 with three walks, two steals, four RBI and three runs in that span. The 28-year-old is likely to remain in a strong-side platoon role with most of his playing time coming in the corner outfield. He's up to a .231/.318/.436 slash line through 88 plate appearances on the season. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:21 pm

    • Christopher Morel exits game with sore right knee
The Cubs announced that Christopher Morel was pulled from Saturday’s ballgame against the Pirates due to right knee soreness.

Advice: The severity of the injury remains unclear, but the fact that they’re calling the issue just soreness bodes well for Morel’s outlook. It’s likely that he’ll receive a day off on Sunday as a precautionary measure, but it seems plausible that he’ll avoid a trip to the injured list. Rotoworld Saturday, 6:09 pm

    • Exits with right knee injury
Morel was removed from Saturday's game versus the Pirates in the fifth inning with right knee soreness, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Morel looked to hurt the knee on a stolen base attempt in the top of the third inning. He remained in the game initially but was removed for a pinch hitter following a rain delay. The Cubs could have more on Morel's condition after the game. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:11 pm

    • Christopher Morel leaves game with apparent injury
Christopher Morel was removed from Saturday’s game against the Pirates with an apparent knee injury.

Advice: Morel appeared to injure himself while sliding into second base on a stolen base attempt in the third inning. He remained in the game for another inning defensively, but after a lengthy rain delay, he was replaced by a pinch hitter with the bases loaded in the fifth inning. Expect the Cubs to provide an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Saturday, 5:09 pm
