    • O’s finalize minor league pact with Julio Teheran
Orioles signed RHP Julio Teheran to a minor league contract.

Advice: The deal is now official. Teheran fortifies Baltimore’s injury-depleted starting rotation with some additional depth, but doesn’t offer much appeal for fantasy managers. The 33-year-old journeyman right-hander is an option to take the ball for Thursday’s series finale against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld 1 minute ago
    • Out for season
Middleton (forearm) will undergo surgery next week to repair his right flexor tendon and will miss the rest of the season, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: The timing of Middleton's surgery will allow him to return at some point during the 2025 campaign. He signed a one-year deal with St. Louis in February with a $6 million club option for 2025, though the Cardinals' decision on whether or not to bring him back will likely depend on how much of the next season he's expected to miss. • Kyle Freeland (elbow) throws bullpen session Tuesday
Kyle Freeland (elbow) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday at Coors Field.

Advice: Freeland was transferred to the 60-day injured list last month as he recovers from a left elbow strain, so it’s an encouraging development that he’s throwing without any issues already. The 31-year-old southpaw should be ready to return at some point in late June or early July. Rotoworld 42 minutes ago

    • Keynan Middleton to undergo season-ending surgery
Keynan Middleton will undergo season-ending flexor tendon surgery.

Advice: Middleton signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Cardinals back in early February and won’t end up throwing a pitch this season for the club. The 30-year-old righty landed on the shelf back in mid-March with a forearm strain and suffered multiple setbacks over the last few months before ultimately opting for season-ending surgery. • Beginning rehab assignment
The Padres sent Otto (shoulder) to the Arizona Complex League on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.

Advice: A right teres major strain has kept Otto on the shelf since spring training, though he now seems ready to test his shoulder in a competitive environment. The Padres have not specified how long the 28-year-old reliever's assignment might last, but an extended stay may be necessary after being shut down for more than two months. Advice: Gillaspie has been shipped out to make room for top pitching prospect Adam Mazur to ascend to the majors on Tuesday night for his big-league debut against the Angels. The 27-year-old righty has made a pair of scoreless relief appearances this season for San Diego. Rotoworld Today, 3:25 pm
    • Jakb Junis starting rehab assignment on Tuesday
Jakob Junis (shoulder, head) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Junis is going to need at least a handful of rehab outings to build up his stamina and pitch count, but he should be an option for the Brewers as extra starting pitching depth in a couple weeks. The 31-year-old suffered a head injury when he was hit by a ball during batting practice back in late April while on the injured list recovering from a shoulder impingement. Rotoworld Today, 2:44 pm
