    • Chris Sale stays hot in domination of Cubs
      Chris Sale threw seven shutout innings in a 7-0 win over the Cubs, allowing just two hits and striking out nine.

      Advice: He’s now allowed just two runs over his last 25 innings. Sale’s slider carved up the Cubs all game, with a 44 percent whiff rate and 34 percent CSW on the pitch. The average exit velocity on all contact against Sale was just 81 mph as the left-hander mowed down the Cubs’ order. The effort gave him a 2.54 ERA on the year to go along with 61 strikeouts to just eight walks in 49 2/3 innings.     • Might throw off mound this weekend
      Eovaldi (groin) could be ready to throw off a mound this weekend, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

      Advice: Eovaldi did some more flat-ground throwing Monday and might be ready to take the next step forward by getting back on a mound to toss a bullpen session. While he looks to be trending in the right direction, Eovaldi doesn't look as though he'll be ready to return from the 15-day injured list when first eligible Saturday.     • Down's A's for fourth win
      Castillo (4-5) picked up the win over the Athletics on Sunday, allowing two runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out eight over six innings.

      Advice: Both runs allowed by Castillo came via the long ball, with Max Schuemann and Abraham Toro taking him deep in consecutive innings. Aside from that, Castillo limited the damage to just base hits and tossed his sixth straight quality start, which now puts him in a tie for fifth-most in baseball. Castillo now owns a 3.31 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 64:11 K:BB in 54.1 innings and lines up to face the Orioles on the road next weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:01 am

      Luis Castillo picked up his fourth victory of the season on Sunday, limiting the Athletics to two runs on seven hits over his six innings of work.

      Advice: The 31-year-old right-hander punched out eight batters on the afternoon and didn’t issue a base on balls. Both of the runs that Castillo allowed came via the long ball — with Max Schuemann blasting a solo shot in the fifth inning and Abraham Toro crushing one in the sixth inning. He got 14 whiffs on 100 pitches on the day, registering a CSW of 30 percent. Now 4-5 on the season, he’ll carry a 3.31 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 64/11 K/BB ratio (54 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Orioles in Baltimore. Rotoworld Sunday, 6:17 pm

      Fried (3-1) earned the win over the Mets on Saturday, allowing three walks while striking out five batters over seven scoreless and hitless innings.

      Advice: Fried threw 109 pitches during his seven frames, so manager Brian Snitker didn't allow him to push any further for an individual no-hitter. Atlanta's bullpen carried the no-no into the ninth inning before J.D. Martinez ended the combined bid with a two-out solo homer off Raisel Iglesias. Though he didn't etch his name in the record books, Fried bounced back very nicely after giving up four runs over seven frames and picking up his first loss in his previous outing.     • Raisel Iglesias gives up solo homer vs. Mets
      Raisel Iglesias allowed a solo homer while picking up a strikeout in a relief appearance Saturday against the Mets.

      Advice: Atlanta didn’t allow a hit over the first 8 2/3 innings, but Iglesias gave up the no-no — and the shutout — by allowing a homer to J.D. Martinez. Iglesias also gave up another hit and a walk, but he was able to escape the jam; although the escape comes without a save since he entered the game with a 4-0 lead.     • Max Fried no-hits Mets over seven innings in win
      Max Fried went seven no-hit innings to help Atlanta to a 4-1 win over the Mets on Saturday.

      Advice: For the second time in three starts, Fried has not allowed a hit. Unfortunately, his pitch count has prevented him from being able to complete the no-no in both, and he was done Saturday after throwing 109 pitches. The Mets wouldn’t pick up a hit until a solo homer off Raisel Iglesias by J.D. Martinez in the ninth. Still, the left-hander was once again awfully impressive, and he struck out five against three walks without really being challenged throughout the outing.     • Notches 10th save
      Iglesias allowed a run on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning Friday to earn a save against the Mets.

      Advice: Iglesias coughed up an RBI single to Pete Alonso with two outs in the ninth but was able to close out the 4-2 victory. The right-hander has converted 10 of his 12 save chances this year while posting a 10:4 K:BB through 15.1 innings.     • Raisel Iglesias earns shaky save over Mets
      Raisel Iglesias closed out the Mets for his 10th save of the season Friday despite allowing an earned run.

      Advice: Results wise, Iglesias has been great this season with a 2.35 ERA. There’s some fear of regression though with a paltry 16.1 K%, by far the lowest of his career. A.J.
