• Dodgers recall Ricky Vanasco from Triple-A OKC
Dodgers recalled RHP Ricky Vanasco from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: After a bullpen game from the Dodgers on Thursday night, the team wanted to add a fresh arm to their bullpen mix on Friday and Vanasco was the choice. The 25-year-old hurler has retired all six batters that he has faced with the Dodgers this season across two perfect innings. He’ll function in middle relief. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • Dodgers option James Outman to Triple-A OKC
Dodgers optioned OF James Outman to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: With Jason Heyward returning on Friday night, something had to give in the Dodgers’ outfield and Andy Pages was simply hitting too well to be sent down. That left Outman — who was slashing just .147/.250/.266 with three homers, 10 RBI and a pair of swipes — as the odd-man out this time around. He’ll look to get his season back on track at the Triple-A level. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago

  • Optioned to Sacramento
The Giants optioned Schmitt to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Schmitt will lose his spot on the big-league roster with Jorge Soler (shoulder) returning from the injured list Friday. Schmitt went just 3-for-22 and drove in one RBI during his brief stint in the majors, though he may return to San Francisco if the Giants need to rely on their organizational infield depth again later this season. • Undergoing season-ending surgery
Lee is set to undergo season-ending surgery in the next few weeks for a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Lee sustained the injury in the top of the first inning of Sunday's game against the Reds when he crashed into the outfield wall while attempting to make a catch. He was placed on the 10-day IL with what was initially labelled as a dislocated left shoulder, but an MRI on Tuesday revealed further structural damage. Lee received multiple opinions on the injury, and season-ending surgery has been ultimately been decided on for the 25-year-old outfielder. Lee signed a six-year, $113 million with the Giants in December of 2023 after seven seasons in the Korea Baseball Organization, and he will end his first season in the majors slashing .262/.310/.331 with four doubles, two home runs and eight RBI over 158 plate appearances. Luis Matos has started in center field in each game since Lee's injury, and the former will reprise that role again Friday against the Rockies. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago

  • Lands on injured list
The Giants placed Winn on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right forearm strain, retroactive to Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Although manager Bob Melvin described Winn's injury as mild, the 26-year-old's MRI results seemingly told a different story. Winn will now be sidelined for at least the next two weeks while Mason Black comes up from Triple-A Sacramento to fill the open spot in San Francisco's rotation. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago

  • Returns to starting lineup
Soler (shoulder) is serving as the designated hitter and batting in the leadoff spot for Friday's game against the Rockies, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: The Giants reinstated Soler from the 10-day injured list Friday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com. Soler made two rehab appearances with Triple-A Sacramento, and he went 2-for-3 with one RBI in Thursday's outing. Before landing on the IL, the 32-year-old was slashing .202/.294/.361 with five home runs and eight RBI over 136 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago

  • Jonathan India returns to Reds’ lineup on Friday
Jonathan India (migraine) returned to the Reds’ starting lineup for Friday night’s matchup against the Dodgers.

Advice: India had missed each of the team’s previous two games due to migraines. He’s back in there at second base on Friday night and will bat leadoff against James Paxton and the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Rotoworld 57 minutes ago

  • Recalled from Triple-A
The Giants recalled Black from Triple-A Sacramento to start Friday's game against the Rockies, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Black was lit up for five runs in 4.1 innings during his MLB debut, but he managed to bounce back by giving up just one run in 4.1 frames during his second start against the Reds. Now, he'll return to the Giants' rotation and start Friday as Keaton Winn (forearm) lands on the injured list. Rotowire.com 59 minutes ago

  • Jung Hoo Lee to undergo season-ending surgery
Jung Hoo Lee will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

Advice: It had been anticipated that Lee would be sidelined for most — if not all — of the season after crashing into the center-field wall at Oracle Park over the weekend, and now it’s official. The 25-year-old finishes his first season stateside hitting .262/.310/.331 with a pair of homers, 15 runs scored, eight RBI and two stolen bases in 37 games. He should be ready to go for the start of spring training in 2025. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago
