• Blue Jays claim José Cuas off waivers from Cubs
Blue Jays claimed RHP José Cuas off waivers from the Cubs.

Advice: Cuas was designated for assignment last weekend by Chicago after struggling to a lackluster 7.43 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 14/6 K/BB ratio over 13 1/3 innings (nine appearances) this season in the majors. He’ll report to Triple-A Buffalo as extra organizational relief depth for Toronto. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago
  • Slade Cecconi lifted after three versus Phillies
Slade Cecconi was lifted after allowing one run in three innings Sunday in his start against the Phillies.

Advice: Since the Diamondbacks didn’t use their key relievers Saturday and have tomorrow off, they were aggressive in going to the pen today. Cecconi allowed five hits in three innings, so it’s not like he was having an easy time out there anyway. He wound up with the loss, leaving him 2-6 with a 5.74 ERA. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

  • David Dahl knocks in two in Phillies’ victory
David Dahl went 2-for-4 with two RBI against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Advice: Dahl broke a 1-0 game open in the sixth after an odd balk from Justin Martinez advanced an additional runner into scoring position. Dahl also homered as a pinch-hitter in Saturday’s rout. Prior to that, he’d been in a 2-for-28 rut after a strong first three games with the Phillies. He’ll continue to start in left field against righties for now. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

  • Eugenio Suárez goes hitless in fifth straight game
Eugenio Suárez went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the loss to the Phillies on Sunday.

Advice: There was talk of Suárez playing less after Geraldo Perdomo came off the IL earlier this month, but it’s barely materialized; he sat out two of Arizona’s first five games with Perdomo back, but he’s now started six in a row, even though his results have remained awful. This is his fifth straight hitless game, and his average is down to .192. His last multi-RBI game came on Apr. 22. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago
  • Claimed by Jays
The Blue Jays claimed Cuas off waivers from the Cubs on Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: Cuas was jettisoned off Chicago's 40-man roster last week after posting a 7.43 ERA and 1.65 WHIP through 13.1 innings in the big leagues. His Triple-A numbers haven't been much better (6.35 ERA, 1.68 WHIP), and while he will reclaim a 40-man roster spot upon joining his new organization, the 29-year-old righty surely has plenty of work to do in Buffalo before the Blue Jays can consider adding him to their MLB bullpen. • Sitting third straight
Kepler (neck) isn't in the Twins' lineup for Sunday's game against Oakland.

Advice: Neck spasms will cause Kepler to miss his third game in a row Sunday, though he still doesn't seem to be trending toward a trip to the injured list. Manuel Margot will pick up another start in right field and bat leadoff. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

  • Sitting against lefty
Larnach isn't in the Twins' lineup for Sunday's game versus the Athletics.

Advice: Larnach and his career .569 OPS against lefties will take a seat Sunday against left-handed starter Hogan Harris. Willi Castro will fill the opening in left field while Kyle Farmer starts at the keystone, batting eighth. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago

  • Out of Sunday's lineup
Jeffers isn't in the Twins' lineup for Sunday's game against Oakland.

Advice: Jeffers has alternated starts behind the plate with Christian Vazquez for most of June, and Sunday will simply mark Vazquez's turn to serve as Minnesota's catcher while batting ninth. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago

  • Transferred to 60-day IL
The Yankees transferred Burdi (hip) to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

Advice: Burdi's move to the 60-day injured list is to make room on the 40-man roster for J.D. Davis, who the Yankees acquired from the Athletics on Sunday. Burdi was placed on the 15-day injured list May 24 due to right hip inflammation. He received a platet-rich injection for the injury June 2, but he hasn't been cleared to start throwing. Burdi appeared in 12 games before landing on the injured list, registering a 1.86 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 9.2 innings. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago
