    • Johan Rojas delivers ninth-inning homer in victory
Johan Rojas hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Phillies past the Angels 7-5 on Tuesday.

Advice: Nick Castellanos had already tied the game with a solo shot before Rojas provided the difference maker. It was Rojas’s first homer in 91 plate appearances this season. Fortunately, he’s continued to play his usual excellent defense, and Whit Merrifield hasn’t been able to force his way into the lineup. Rojas isn’t a mixed-league guy right now, but with his ability to steal bases, he doesn’t need to be all that much better offensively to get to that kind of level. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago

    • Spencer Turnbull solid for 5 1/3 innings
Spencer Turnbull yielded two runs — one earned — in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Angels.

Advice: This will likely be Turnbull’s final start for a while, as Taijuan Walker’s return has restored the Phillies’ planned rotation. Still, Turnbull seems like a better bet than Walker going forward, and while it’s unlikely that he’d hold up over the course of 32 starts, he might be a fantasy factor again later this year. For now, he’s probably droppable in shallow mixed leagues. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago
    • Another strong start
Turnbull didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks over 5.1 innings against the Angels. He struck out six.

Advice: The only run charged against Turnbull came in the third inning when Zach Neto tagged him for a solo homer. The 31-year-old hasn't allowed more than four hits in a game this season and with the Phillies expected to trim their six-man rotation back to five now that Taijuan Walker is healthy, Turnbull has certainly made a case for maintaining a starting role. However, after dealing with severe injuries in 2022 and 2023, the Phillies could look to watch his workload early in hopes of keeping him fresh throughout the long season. If Turnbull sticks in the rotation, he'd likely toe the rubber early next week, either catching the series finale against the Giants or the series opener against Toronto. Rotowire.com Today, 10:07 pm
    • Swats three-run homer
Naylor went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 10-9 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Naylor launched his seventh home run of the campaign and scored multiple times for the second time this season. Even with Naylor's long ball, he's batting 3-for-22 (.136) over his last six games. However, he's added a pair of stolen bases and has struck out four times to three walks during that stretch. • Receives night off
Varsho is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Varsho won't face the left-handed Cole Ragans on Tuesday as the Blue Jays trot out a lineup of eight righties and Cavan Biggio. The outfielder is 1-for-14 (.071) across his last four games but will likely slide back into the Toronto lineup Wednesday when the Jays face RHP Seth Lugo. Rotowire.com Today, 12:23 pm

    • Reinstated Tuesday, as expected
The Twins activated Duran (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Minnesota will finally have its closer healthy and available after Duran missed the first month of the season due to an oblique strain. The right-hander labored a bit during his first rehab outing, but he looked like himself during his second and final appearance Saturday, as he averaged 101.8 mph with his fastball. Manager Rocco Baldelli hasn't officially indicated whether or not Duran will immediately slot back in as the Twins' closer, but he seems likely to get ninth-inning chances sooner than later. • Twins activate Jhoan Duran for Tuesday return
Twins activated RHP Jhoan Duran (oblique) from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Duran will make his season debut this week, reclaiming his role as Minnesota’s closer, following a one-month stint on the injured list to open the year. He was sent to Triple-A St. Paul for a rehab assignment over the weekend and it appears all went well and he’s been given the green light to return to the active roster. The 26-year-old finished last year with a career-high 27 saves and a 2.45 ERA across 62 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Today, 11:05 am
    • Swats solo shot Monday
Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk in Monday's 8-4 victory against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Smith padded the Dodgers' lead in the sixth inning with a 407-foot solo blast to center field. It was the backstop's second long ball in three games after he went deep just once over his first 23 contests of the campaign. Though he's been pretty quiet in the power department thus far, Smith is having an outstanding start to the season, slashing .363/.404/.539 with 22 RBI and 16 runs through 114 plate appearances. • Fires six hitless frames
Fried pitched six scoreless and hitless innings against Seattle on Monday, walking two batters and striking out seven in a no-decision.

Advice: Fried was dominant in the outing, racking up 15 swinging strikes and allowing just two baserunners, both of whom reached via walk. However, he didn't get a chance to try to extend his no-hit bid beyond the sixth frame because he needed 100 pitches just to get that deep. Still, he was in line for the victory until A.J. Minter gave up a walk-off homer to Mitch Garver in the ninth frame. Fried began the campaign with two poor starts but has turned things around since, tossing three quality starts among his past four outings. He hasn't given up any runs across 15 frames over his past two starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:47 pm
