  • On bench as expected
Arcia (head) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Arcia was expected to miss Tuesday's game after being lifted from Monday's contest due to dizziness. Zack Short will fill in at shortstop and Arcia should be considered day-to-day moving forward. Rotowire.com Today, 1:34 pm

  • Edmundo Sosa returns to lineup on Tuesday
Edmundo Sosa (elbow) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: Sosa is back in Philadelphia’s lineup to face Detroit ace Tarik Skubal after missing a couple games due to a left elbow contusion. Rotoworld Today, 1:18 pm

  • Sitting out Tuesday
Stott is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Detroit.

Advice: Southpaw Tarik Skubal is getting the ball for the Tigers on Tuesday, so it's a sensible spot to give Stott a day off. Edmundo Sosa is handling second base for the Phillies on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:15 pm

  • Back in action Tuesday
Sosa (elbow) will start at second base and bat sixth in Tuesday's game in Detroit.

Advice: Sosa had to depart a game over the weekend after being hit in the left elbow by a pitch, but he's ready to roll now. He and his teammates will be tasked in trying to solve Tarik Skubal on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:11 pm

  • In line for more work
Short went 0-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base in Monday's loss to St. Louis.

Advice: Orlando Arcia left the game in the sixth inning complaining of dizziness, and Short took over at shortstop and as the No. 9 hitter. It was his first game action since June 5, and with Arcia likely to get at least Tuesday's game off, the 29-year-old utility infielder should pick up his first start since May 25. Short's .150/.320/.200 slash line in 50 plate appearances since joining Atlanta suggests he won't be much more than a DFS punt play, however. Rotowire.com Today, 6:44 am

  • Swipes bag in loss
Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a walk, one stolen base and one run scored in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Giants.

Advice: Hoerner hasn't hit all that well in June (.194), but he's logged six steals over 19 contests this month. The infielder is up to 12 thefts on 14 attempts for the season, providing speed atop the Cubs' lineup. He's added a .241/.331/.327 slash line with two home runs, 18 RBI, 36 runs scored, 14 doubles and a triple over 70 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:08 pm
  • Gets aboard three times
Ahmed went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks in Monday's 5-4 win over the Cubs.

Advice: The homer was Ahmed's first of the season. The shortstop has gone 5-for-14 (.357) with two RBI and one stolen base over six contests since he returned from a wrist injury that sidelined him for a month. Ahmed is slashing .250/.291/.323 with 13 RBI, 11 runs scored, four doubles, one triple and one steal through 136 plate appearances. He hasn't been strictly limited to a short-side platoon role since his return, but Brett Wisely is seeing a majority of the reps at shortstop and is also hitting a solid .262 in June. • Nick Ahmed hits first homer, walks twice in win
Nick Ahmed hit his first homer and walked twice as the Giants came back to beat the Cubs 5-4 on Monday.

Advice: The second walk was key as the Giants scored three times to win the game in the bottom of the ninth. The winning run also came on a walk, that to Wilmer Flores after Heliot Ramos was intentionally walked to load the bases. Both Ahmed and Flores appeared to have strikes ruled balls by umpire Ramon De Jesus during their plate appearances, but it doesn’t matter much at this point. Ahmed’s homer off Justin Steele was his first since June 10, 2023. He’s taking a backseat to Brett Wisely against right-handers at the moment, but he’ll continue to start at shortstop versus lefties. • Three hits, two steals Monday
Abrams went 3-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Monday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Padres.

Advice: Abrams has posted a trio of three-hit games over his last four contests. He'd been less fortunate on the basepaths lately, going 1-for-4 on stolen base attempts over the previous five games before his two swipes Monday. The shortstop is putting together a strong breakout campaign with a .275/.325/.502 slash line, 12 home runs, 39 RBI, 47 runs scored and 13 thefts over 70 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:30 pm
