Joe Ross holds Cubs to one run in six innings
Joe Ross wasn’t involved in the decision after limiting the Cubs to one run over six innings in the Brewers’ 3-1 victory Friday.
Advice: Ross allowed six hits, walked none and struck out four. Both pitchers today benefitted from a typically friendly umpire and a breeze blowing in from center at Wrigley, but Christopher Morel was able to overcome the wind and homer in the sixth, accounting for the only run allowed by either starter. The Brewers rebounded in the eighth, with four singles off Adbert Alzolay producing all three of their runs. Ross remained 1-3 while lowering his ERA to 4.65. He’ll likely face the Royals next.
