• Heading to bench Sunday
Fry is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Fry will head to the bench after a stretch of six consecutive starts in which he slashed .333/.462/.667 with three extra-base hits, one stolen base, eight RBI and five runs. Five of his last six starts came in left field, but with Steven Kwan back from the injured list, Fry could end up seeing most of his opportunities at designated hitter moving forward. Kyle Manzardo represents Fry's primary competition for playing time at DH, but both will be on the bench Sunday while Jose Ramirez gets a day off from third base and but sticks in the starting nine in a non-defensive role. • Hitting bench Sunday
Manzardo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Manzardo was on the bench for two of the past three games while the Guardians faced three consecutive lefty starters, but his absence Sunday comes with right-hander Jake Irvin on the hill for Washington. Jose Ramirez will get a day out of the field and will serve as the Guardians' designated hitter, but even when Ramirez plays third base against right-handed pitching, Manzardo's opportunities could become more limited. The hot-hitting David Fry -- who is out of the lineup Sunday -- has made a case to overtake Manzardo as the Guardians' preferred DH against both righties and lefties. • Goes deep Saturday
Santander went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Rays.

Advice: Santander has started to look more like himself, going 9-for-32 (.281) with three homers over his last nine contests. For the year, he's slashing .218/.300/.440 with 10 homers, 30 RBI, 29 runs scored, 11 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases. Santander has been plagued by a .224 BABIP this year, so it's no surprise his overall numbers are down, but it's a reason for optimism that he'll be able to turn things around. • Reclaiming playing time at first base
Soderstrom will start at first base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Soderstrom has now started in three of Oakland's last four matchups with right-handed pitchers and appears to have displaced J.D. Davis as the Athletics' preferred option at the position. Soderstrom is still likely to occupy the strong side of a platoon at first base with either Davis or Aledmys Diaz. • Getting Sunday off
O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Advice: The lefty-hitting O'Hearn typically hits the bench against left-handed pitchers, but he'll get a breather versus a righty (Zack Littell) for the series finale. Adley Rutschman will get a day off from catching and will start at designated hitter in place of O'Hearn, who had been included in the lineup in each of the previous five games. • Getting rest versus lefty
Aranda is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Aranda will hit the bench along with fellow left-handed hitters Richie Palacios, Ben Rortvedt and Brandon Lowe as the Rays roll a full right-handed-hitting lineup versus Orioles southpaw Cole Irvin. Harold Ramirez will replace Aranda as the Rays' designated hitter. Rotowire.com Today, 9:34 am
  • Losing out to Jose Abreu
Singleton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Advice: For the third time in four matchups with a right-handed starting pitcher (Simeon Woods Richardson), the lefty-hitting Singleton finds himself on the bench. Though he initially looked poised to hold down a strong-side platoon role at first base when the right-handed-hitting Jose Abreu was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Singleton appears to have since moved into a pure reserve role. • Anthony Santander goes yard in win Saturday
Anthony Santander went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, and a walk against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Santander followed Ryan Mountcastle’s homer in the first inning with his own solo blast to extend the lead. He then drew a walk in the third before scoring on a double by Kyle Stowers. Santander added another hit with a single in the fourth. The 29-year-old slugger is hitting .218/.300/.440 with ten homers and 30 RBI across 217 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:05 pm

  • Sitting again Saturday
Busch isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Busch is 4-for-13 with a homer, three RBI and two runs scored in his last six games, but he is likely to see a dip in playing time, as Pete Crow-Armstrong's arrival will force Cody Bellinger to start at first base more often. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:07 pm
