    • Edwin Díaz works scoreless seventh inning
Edwin Díaz pitched a scoreless seventh inning on Friday against the Giants. He allowed one hit, struck out one batter, and earned a hold.

Advice: The Mets’ closer role is fully in flux with Díaz’s struggles and Reed Garrett allowing a go-ahead grand slam to Patrick Bailey on Friday. It was nice to see Díaz pitch a reasonably clean inning, but Jorge Soler put one to the warning track and his command was still shaky. Keep an eye on his usage, especially if the Mets ever do win a game. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago
    • Bobby Witt Jr. socks solo homer in win over Rays
Bobby Witt Jr. socked his eighth home run of the season on Friday, helping to power the Royals to a lopsided victory over the Rays.

Advice: The 23-year-old superstar crushed his 433-foot (107.5 mph EV) solo shot off of Tyler Alexander in the seventh inning — increasing the Royals’ lead to 7-1. That would be his only hit in five at-bats on the night. He’s having another outstanding season across the board, slashing .305/.361/.557 with eight homers, 34 RBI and 16 stolen bases. • Grabs 10th save
Kimbrel picked up the save Thursday, getting the final two outs in an 8-6 victory over the White Sox.

Advice: Jonathan Heasley stayed in the game to start the ninth inning with the O's ahead 8-2 after getting the last out in the eighth, though he would quickly run into trouble after failing to retire the first four batters he faced in the final frame. He would be relieved by Yennier Cano, but Cano allowed three inherited runners to score while getting only one out, making it an 8-6 ballgame. That's when Kimbrel came in to save the day, needing just two pitches to record a bizarre double play as Andrew Vaughn was called out for runner's interference on an infield fly. The veteran reliever has converted all three of his save attempts this month after blowing back-to-back saves to close out April. Kimbrel also hasn't allowed any hits or walks in those three appearances with five strikeouts. Rotowire.com Today, 6:52 am
    • Earns fifth win
Rodriguez (5-1) earned the win over the White Sox on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and five walks over five innings while striking out seven.

Advice: Rodriguez ran into trouble right away after surrendering a leadoff single to Tommy Pham. The right-hander would fail to retire four of the first six batters in the first inning and even walked home the first run of the contest, but was able to escape without any further damage. His command issues surfaced again in the third when he issued a two-out walk and then hit Paul DeJong with a pitch, leading to Chicago's second run. Rodriguez has allowed just two runs over 11 innings since returning from the injured list, though his five walks Thursday marked a season high. He's issued at least three free passes in three straight outings. Rotowire.com Today, 4:45 am
    • Kimbrel picks up 10th save Thursday
Craig Kimbrel picked up the save against the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: With the bases loaded and a five-run lead in the ninth inning, Orioles manager Brandon Hyde went to Yennier Cano for what was an unconventional save opportunity. Cano hit Andrew Vaughn and allowed a two run single to Gavin Sheets to make it a two-run game. After striking out Zach DeLoach, Cano was removed in favor of Kimbrel, who got Andrew Benintendi to pop into a double play. The save was Kimbrel’s 10th of the season and his third since returning to the closer’s role. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:06 pm
    • Rodriguez gets fifth win Thursday
Grayson Rodriguez allowed two runs in five innings and picked up the win in the Orioles’ 8-6 win over the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Rodriguez was a bit of a mixed bag in his second start since coming off the injured list. The win was his fifth of the season. Rodriguez struck out seven, but also allowed three hits and walked five. His ERA is 3.20 on the season now. The 24-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Red Sox at home next week.

    • Registers steal
Happ went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 3-0 loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Happ is batting just .221 (15-for-68) in May, but he's also recorded both of his steals for the year this month. The veteran outfielder has a career-worst .652 OPS and .218 batting average over 46 contests while adding two home runs, 14 RBI and 23 runs scored. While he's struggling to find a rhythm at the plate, Happ continues to hold down a starting job in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:54 pm

    • Records third steal
Albies went 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Albies is hitting well, going 11-for-40 (.275) over his last 10 games, though he has just one extra-base hit, a double, in that span. The second baseman is slashing .269/.330/.388 with three home runs, three steals, 23 RBI, 22 runs scored and 10 doubles over 39 contests on the year. He's locked into a starting role, but the lack of counting stats is a small concern for a player that has hit 20-plus homers four times in the last six years. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:40 pm

    • Four more hits in win
Arraez went 4-for-5 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Reds.

Advice: Arraez has multiple hits in each his last eight games, going 20-for-38 (.526) with three extra-base hits in that span. The infielder played at first base Thursday, swapping places with Jake Cronenworth on the right side of the infield. Arraez is up to a .341/.382/.422 slash line with one home run, 12 RBI, 31 runs scored and three stolen bases over 226 plate appearances. He sees a majority of the playing time at the keystone with Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) out indefinitely and should continue to thrive atop the order for a team that has little trouble putting the ball in play.
