      Kopech (2-6) blew a save but earned the win over the Mariners on Thursday, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two batters over one inning.

      Advice: Kopech was summoned in the ninth inning to try to protect a one-run Chicago lead but served up a one-out, game-tying solo shot to Julio Rodriguez. To his credit, Kopech bounced back to retire the next two batters and send the game to extra frames, and he was credited with a win as a result of the White Sox pushing across a run in the 10th. Kopech hasn't been very effective in a closing role for Chicago -- he hasn't notched a save since May 15 and is just 5-for-9 in save opportunities this season.       Correa went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and an additional RBI in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Athletics.

      Advice: Correa gave the Twins their first lead with a run-scoring single in the third inning and capped the scoring in the contest with a two-run homer to left field in the seventh. The veteran shortstop finished with his sixth multi-hit performance over his past eight contests, and he's slashing a jaw-dropping .545/.568/.758 with two homers, eight runs and nine RBI over that span.       Ryan (5-5) earned the win over Oakland on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out five batters over seven innings.

      Advice: Ryan surrendered a two-run homer to Tyler Soderstrom in the second inning, but those were the only runs the A's managed against the righty hurler. Ryan finished with a stat line very similar to his previous outing, when he gave up two runs on three hits over seven frames versus Pittsburgh, though that performance came in a losing effort.       Severino allowed one run on seven hits and three walks while striking out two batters over six innings in a no-decision versus Miami on Thursday.

      Advice: Severino recorded only one 1-2-3 inning and punched out a season-low two batters, but he held the Marlins scoreless until Jake Burger belted a solo homer in the sixth frame. It was the third time in his past four outings that the veteran hurler has yielded exactly one run, and he has a 2.39 ERA and 1.10 WHIP despite a mediocre 16:7 K:BB over 26.1 innings during that span.     • Michael Kopech blows save, gets win
      Michael Kopech blew a save but picked up a win while allowing a run over an inning of work against the Mariners on Thursday.

      Advice: Kopech gets the win despite allowing a game-tying homer to Julio Rodriguez with two outs in the ninth. The win stat has zero flaws and anyone who suggests otherwise is providing falsehoods.       Carlos Correa went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, three RBI, and a home run against the Athletics on Thursday.

      Advice: Correa has been absolutely on fire at the plate lately. He’s hitting 18-for-33 (.545) with two home runs and nine RBI in his last eight games. Correa’s average is suddenly up to .299 with 31 RBI on the season. Despite only having six home runs total this year, his fantasy value is undeniable. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:42 pm
       
    • Ryan picks up fifth win against A’s Thursday
      Joe Ryan allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Twins’ 6-2 victory over the Athletics on Thursday.

      Advice: Ryan gave up three hits, walked one and struck out five. The win was his fifth of the year. Both of the runs for Oakland came on a Tyler Soderstrom two-run home run in the second inning. Ryan hung a splitter to Soderstrom, but it was basically the only mistake he made on the night. It was Ryan’s 10th quality start of the season. His ERA is now 3.24 on the year. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rays at home next week.

    • Strikes out 11 in win
      Bradley (2-4) earned the win against the Cubs on Thursday, allowing two (unearned) runs on three hits and two walks with 11 strikeouts over seven innings.

      Advice: Bradley was dominant other than the fifth inning, when the Cubs scored two unearned runs on back-to-back bunts. This was arguably the best start of Bradley's young career, as he registered 17 swinging strikes on 104 pitches and tied a career-high with 11 strikeouts. While Bradley has been up-and-down in 2024, Thursday's effort showed his immense potential when he has his best stuff. On the season, he owns a 4.23 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 50:12 K:BB in 38.1 innings, and he tentatively lines up to face the Twins next week. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:54 pm

      Luis Severino allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Mets’ 3-2 victory over the Marlins on Thursday.

      Advice: Severino gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out two. He’s allowed only one run in three of his last four starts. Severino’s two strikeouts were a season-low for him. His ERA is now 3.12 on the season. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rangers on the road next week.
