    • Officially demoted to Triple-A
The Twins optioned Julien to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.

Advice: Julien put up a 132 OPS+ last season as a rookie and opened the 2024 campaign as the Twins' leadoff man against right-handed pitching. While he started off with an .830 OPS in April this season, he posted a .482 OPS with a 36.5 percent strikeout rate since May 1. Julien could regain a regular role with Minnesota later this season, but he'll head to St. Paul for now as he looks to get back on track. Willi Castro will likely take over as the Twins' primary second baseman, with Kyle Farmer being mixed in against lefties. Rotowire.com Today, 6:40 am

    • Twins option Edouard Julien to Triple-A St. Paul
Twins optioned INF Edouard Julien to Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: As anticipated, the 25-year-old infielder is sent out to make room on the active roster for the return of Royce Lewis on Tuesday. Julien had been mired in quite the slump — slashing just .169/.274/.181 with zero homers, five RBI and a 36/12 K/BB ratio over 95 plate appearances over his last 32 games dating back to April 28. Hopefully playing every day at the Triple-A level is enough to cure what ails him. We haven’t seen the last of Julien in the big leagues this season. Rotoworld Today, 6:14 am

    • Jon Gray (groin) to face live hitters on Monday
Jon Gray (groin) is scheduled to face live hitters on Monday.

Advice: The Rangers remain hopeful that Gray will only need a minimum stint on the injured list, so there’s a lot riding on Monday’s session. If all goes well there, he could be cleared to return to the rotation later in the week without needing a minor league rehab assignment. The 32-year-old hurler has been sidelined since May 22 due to a right groin strain. Rotoworld Today, 5:47 am

    • Scheduled for live batters
Gray (groin) is scheduled to face live hitters Monday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: A clearer indication of when Gray could return from the 15-day injured list should emerge following Monday's session. At the time of his placement on the IL, the right-hander wasn't expected to miss much more than the minimum 15 days. Per Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News, Gray could be an option to rejoin the Texas rotation as soon as Friday versus the Giants if Monday's live session goes off without a hitch. • Knocks three hits in loss
Soler went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: This was Soler's first multi-hit effort since May 22, and he went just 4-for-27 over the eight contests in between. The 32-year-old briefly got a look at leadoff in May, but he's since returned to the middle of the Giants' order. He's yet to find a groove for any extended period in 2024, slashing .215/.294/.372 with six home runs, 16 RBI, 22 runs scored and eight doubles over 48 contests. • Earns another win
Bassitt (6-6) picked up the win Sunday, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings against the Pirates. He struck out seven.

Advice: Bassitt didn't seem to be held back at all after leaving his previous start with neck spasms, tossing 100 pitches Sunday and picking up his third straight victory. The 35-year-old has been part of the decision in all 12 of his starts this season and hasn't yielded more than three runs in an outing since April 26. During that stretch, Bassitt is 4-2 with a 2.83 ERA across 35.0 innings. He's scheduled to make his next appearance Friday at Oakland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:50 pm

    • Snaps slump with homer
Burleson went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Phillies.

Advice: Burleson entered Sunday 0-for-17 over his last four games. He ended the drought -- his longest of the season -- with a third-inning blast to put the Cardinals ahead 4-2. Burleson has been forced into a larger role with the Cardinals lacking several starters, including Lars Nootbaar (oblique), who is expected to be out for nearly all of June. Burleson is slashing .273/.302/.418 with six homers, 20 RBI, 15 runs scored and two stolen bases over 50 contests and should have a chance to continue playing on a near-everyday basis for the foreseeable future. • Knocks sixth homer
Chourio went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's win over the White Sox.

Advice: Chourio belted a three-run shot during Milwaukee's four-run second inning. It was his first long ball since May 15, snapping a 12-game drought. During that stretch, he was 6-for-36 (.167) with just two extra-base hits. The highly-touted prospect is still trying to find his footing at the MLB level; he's slashing .214/.257/.345 with 10 extra-base hits and a 10:49 BB:K through 52 games. • Alec Burleson slugs two-run home run in loss
Alec Burleson slugged a two-run homer on Sunday night as the Cardinals rallied late to beat the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Advice: Burleson walloped a 405-foot (105.0 mph EV) two-run shot off of Taijuan Walker in the third inning that gave the Cardinals a 4-2 advantage. That would be his only hit in five at-bats on the evening. For the season, the 25-year-old slugger is slashing .273/.302/.418 to go with six long balls and 20 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:16 pm
