On the bright side, Roberts said that the 31-year-old shortstop won't need surgery to repair the injury.       Brady Singer allowed three runs, all of them coming on solo homers, over six innings Sunday in a loss to the Dodgers.

      Advice: At least Singer got beaten by the best, giving up two homers to Shohei Ohtani and one to Freddie Freeman. Singer has opened June by surrendering 13 runs — 11 earned — in 15 1/3 innings.       Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts told reporters after Sunday’s game that Mookie Betts has been diagnosed with a fractured left hand.

      Advice: The unfortunate injury occurred when he was hit by a 98 mph fastball during Sunday’s game against the Royals. Roberts relayed that while the injury will not require surgery, it will take time to heal. He wouldn’t elaborate on that timetable, other than to say that the injury will not end his 2024 season.       Mookie Betts was removed from Sunday’s battle against the Royals after being hit in the left hand/wrist area by a 98 mph fastball.

      Advice: The 31-year-old superstar was in obvious pain afterwards and the Dodgers immediately made the call to replace him with pinch-runner Miguel Rojas.       Steven Kwan went 4-for-5 with one RBI against the Blue Jays on Sunday.



      Advice: Kwan is hitting a ridiculous .398 on the season now. It’s probably not sustainable as his BABIP is .418 compared to his career .320 BABIP, but Kwan benefits from his low seven percent strikeout percentage. He’s going to put the ball in play a lot and right now everything is finding a hole.

    • Vlad Jr. has three-hit game in win Sunday
      Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored against the Guardians on Sunday.



      Advice: Guerrero was 1-for-17 (.059) with one walk in his last five games. While the three hits were good to see, his power is still a concern. Guerrero’s .122 ISO is a career-low and with seven home runs so far he’s going to have to pick up the pace to even repeat the 26 home runs he hit last season.

      Advice: It was a quiet day for the Marlins offense as they could only muster one run against Washington. Chisholm’s single in the fifth inning temporarily tied the game at one. He’s hitting .260 with a .762 OPS and 34 RBI this year.
