• Pops another homer Thursday
Davis went 2-for-6 with a two-run home run in an extra-innings win over the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Davis gave the Athletics' first rally a serious boost in the eighth inning when he left the yard with Seth Brown aboard and Oakland down by three. Half of Davis' four homers on the season have come in the last three games, and with hits in each of those contests, he's pushed his OPS (.618) to its highest point since May 8. • Begins rehab assignment
Martinez (hand) went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Thursday in his first rehab game with the Arizona Complex League Guardians.

Advice: Martinez began the season on the injured list with a right foot contusion but then suffered a fractured hamate bone six weeks ago while on a rehab assignment for the foot injury. The 22-year-old will eventually move up to a higher affiliate and is likely to be optioned to Triple-A Columbus once he's deemed ready rather than be added to the Guardians' roster. • Two extra-base hits in win
Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-4 with a triple and a solo homer in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

Advice: Kiner-Falefa jumped on the third pitch he saw from Jack Flaherty in the top of the third inning and launched it over the wall in left field to get the Blue Jays on the board. The utility infielder would add a triple in his next at-bat, giving him back-to-back games with two hits after previously riding an 0-for-20 skid. The home run was his third of the season, and two of those have come over his last 11 games. Rotowire.com Today, 4:30 am

  • Moves to upper half of order
Candelario batted third and went 1-for-4 for with a walk, a triple, an RBI and a caught stealing in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to the Padres.

Advice: Candelario tripled a run home in the first inning then was thrown out at home on a double-steal attempt to end the frame. He was later removed for a pinch runner in the 10th inning after he had walked. A recent hot stretch prompted a move up the batting order; Candelario has batted third or fourth in four straight contests. Over his last 12 contests, he's slashing .261/.320/.457 with four doubles, a triple, a homer, four runs and seven RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 4:30 am

  • Homers in third straight game
Chapman went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 7-6 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Chapman's swing is rounding into form -- he's got a homer in three straight games, and he's hitting .405 (17-for-42) with six walks during an 11-game on-base streak. The third baseman's blast Thursday sparked the Giants' eighth-inning rally. He's up to a .249/.313/.440 slash line with eight homers, 27 RBI, five stolen bases and 33 runs scored through 50 contests overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:02 pm
  • Swipes two bags
Kim went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two stolen bases in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Reds.

Advice: Kim seemingly has a green light to run right now -- he's logged five steals over his last five games, going 5-for-15 with five walks in that span. The shortstop is up to 13 thefts on 14 attempts this season, putting him roughly on pace to match his total of 38 steals in 2023. Kim has a .216/.335/.369 slash line with six home runs, 22 RBI, 25 runs scored, four doubles and two triples over 52 games, but his recent hitting suggests he may be turning things around. Kim still figures to hit in the bottom half of the order most of the time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:47 pm
