• Gio Urshela (hamstring) likely to return Tuesday
Gio Urshela will likely rejoin the Tigers prior to Tuesday’s game.

Advice: Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press anticipates that Akil Baddoo will be sent down to make room. Urshela, out since April 19 with a strained hamstring, is 5-for-8 over three games on a rehab assignment. He’ll likely see quite a bit of time at third base, with Matt Vierling getting more action in the outfield. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:33 pm

  • Placed on IL with back injury
The Marlins placed Anderson on the 10-day injured list Monday with lower-back tightness.

Advice: Anderson had missed the previous two games with the injury and evidently didn't show enough progress to avoid a stint on the IL. Because the move is backdated to Saturday, Anderson will be eligible to return from the IL in just over a week. However, it's unclear whether he'll be ready to rejoin the Miami lineup by then. Vidal Brujan is expected to serve as the Marlins' everyday shortstop while Anderson is on the shelf. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:13 pm

  • Draws third straight start
Lopez will start at second base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Lopez will make his third straight start in the middle infield while Tim Anderson sits again due to lower-back tightness. The 25-year-old has swung a hot bat over his last two starts, going 3-for-6 with a home run, a double and a walk. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:38 pm

  • Tim Anderson remains out on Monday
Tim Anderson (back) will miss his third straight game on Monday.

Advice: Anderson was scratched from Saturday’s game with a back injury and then has now missed both Sunday and Monday as well. Vidal Bruján will start at second base with Otto López starting his third straight game at second base. Anderson is hitting just .197/.234/.221 with zero homers and three steals in 128 plate appearances, so it’s possible the Marlins are using this as an opportunity to get a longer look at Bruján and López who are both younger hitters who have flashed in the minors and not yet had a chance to get every day playing time in the big leagues. • Held out again Monday
Anderson (back) remains out of the lineup for Monday's contest against the Tigers.

Advice: Anderson is battling lower-back tightness and will miss a third straight start. The Marlins haven't indicated that a stint on the injured list might be required for Anderson, but the odds certainly increase the more time he misses. Vidal Brujan will again handle shortstop in Anderson's place while Otto Lopez covers second base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:31 pm

  • Goes deep in Sunday's loss
Schuemann went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Schuemann sent one deep off Luis Castillo in the fifth for his second home run of the year. That's now consecutive games with an extra-base hit and an RBI for Schuemann, who's slashing .280/.400/.520 with five RBI, six runs and a 5:5 BB:K over his late eight games. • Gets going with home run
Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sundays 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Bogaerts gave the Padres some extra breathing room with a solo shot off Gus Varland in the fifth. The long ball was his first since April 21, his first RBI since April 25 and his first hit in 17 at-bats since May 6. Bogaerts is still searching for a spark offensively this season, as he's slashing just .211/.264/.301 with three homers, 12 RBI, 22 runs and a 12:36 BB:K in 178 plate appearances. • Mookie Betts collects two hits in loss to Padres
Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with a double as the Dodgers were shut out by the Padres on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

Advice: As a team, the Dodgers tallied just four hits in the contest, with Betts accounting for half of them on his own — including their lone extra-base knock. He smacked a one-out double off of Yu Darvish in the sixth inning but was left stranded there. He then singled off of Wandy Peralta with two outs in the eighth inning. The 31-year-old superstar is having another extraordinary season at the dish — slashing .339/.441/.539 with six homers, 27 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:36 pm

  • Dealing with wrist injury
Kim was hit by a pitch on his left wrist in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Dodgers, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Kim took a 94 mph fastball from Walker Buehler off his left wrist in the bottom of the fourth inning, ultimately exiting the contest the following frame. The infielder underwent X-rays on his arm following the contest that came back negative, according to manager Mike Shildt, which bodes well for Kim moving forward. The 28-year-old can be considered day-to-day for the time being ahead of San Diego's three-game series with the Rockies at home beginning Monday. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:16 pm
