    • Promoted, should pitch Sunday
Roupp (undisclosed) was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: The 25-year-old was on the injured list at Triple-A Sacramento with an unspecified injury, but he'll join the Giants after making three rehab starts in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. Roupp has a 5.27 ERA and 12:8 K:BB across 13.2 innings for San Francisco this season. According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, Roupp is expected to cover about three innings behind opening pitcher Spencer Bivens against the Dodgers on Sunday. • Aroldis Chapman gets save despite allowing run
Aroldis Chapman allowed a run but still picked up a save Sunday against Atlanta.

    • Blue Jays acquire RHP Rodríguez in trade with TEX
Blue Jays acquired RHP Yerry Rodríguez in a trade with the Rangers for RHP Josh Mollerus.

Advice: Rodríguez will head to Triple-A Buffalo. The 26-year-old right-hander was designated for assignment after an ugly 7.11 ERA and 28/17 K/BB in his 31 2/3 innings with Texas over the last two seasons. The Blue Jays will hope to unlock his potential, but he’s not likely to be more than organizational depth at this stage. Rotoworld Today, 10:21 am
    • Giants designate Spencer Howard for assignment
Giants designated RHP Spencer Howard for assignment.

Advice: Howard is booted off the roster a day after he gave up six runs in just 2 2/3 innings of work against the Dodgers on Saturday. The right-hander will be subject to waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, he can either report back to Triple-A Sacramento or he can elect free agency. Rotoworld Today, 10:18 am

    • Takes loss Saturday
Hjelle (3-2) allowed eight runs (six earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out one over two innings to take the extra-innings loss versus the Dodgers on Saturday.

Advice: Hjelle allowed a run in the 10th inning, but the Giants couldn't do anything more than pull even in their half of the frame. The Dodgers took over in the 11th, and Hjelle was left to take it on the chin, as he was seventh pitcher they used in the contest ahead of another likely bullpen game Sunday. Given the situation and opponent, it's understandable, but the poor outing still inflated Hjelle's ERA from 2.33 to 3.54. He's added a 1.03 WHIP and 40:6 K:BB with three holds over 40.2 innings as a multi-inning reliever this year. Rotowire.com Today, 10:16 am

    • Giants recall Landen Roupp from Triple-A
Giants recalled RHP Landen Roupp from Triple-A sacramento.

Advice: Roupp is back and could be inline for work as a bulk option for the Giants with Spencer Bivens starting Sunday’s contest against the Dodgers. The right-hander has a 5.27 ERA in his 13 2/3 innings with San Francisco prior to being demoted at the beginning of May. Spencer Howard was designated for assignment to make room on the roster. • Struggles versus Dodgers
Howard allowed six runs on six hits and two walks while failing to record a strikeout over 2.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Saturday.

Advice: Howard followed opener Erik Miller, though the Giants had the former enter the game in the second inning instead of waiting until the middle of the contest as they had in his previous two outings. Howard's had mixed results at best, with Saturday being his worst appearance of the campaign. He's at a 5.63 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and 21:11 K:BB through 24 innings across seven outings (two starts). With Kyle Harrison (ankle) likely back next week and Blake Snell (groin) returning around mid-July, Howard's running out of time to make a positive impression. His chance of remaining a de facto member of the rotation will get slimmer if Hayden Birdsong turns in a strong performance in Atlanta on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 10:12 am

    • Brooks Raley (elbow) moves to 60-day IL
Mets transferred LHP Brooks Raley from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Raley is off the 40-man roster. It’s a procedural move as the 35-year-old underwent Tommy John surgery at the end of May, and he’s unlikely to pitch again until late in 2025. Rotoworld Today, 10:05 am

    • Cardinals remove Ingram from 40-man roster
Cardinals designated LHP Kolton Ingram for assignment.

Advice: Ingram is removed from the 40-man roster to make room for Jacob Bosiokovic with Bosiokovic called up to St. Louis in the corresponding transaction. Ingram will now be on the waiver wire, and if he goes unclaimed there’s a good chance he remains in Triple-A Memphis. Rotoworld Today, 10:00 am
