    • Could face hitters soon
Senga (shoulder/triceps) threw another bullpen session Wednesday, and manager Carlos Mendoza said afterward that the right-hander's next step could be facing hitters in live batting practice, Julian Guilarte of SI.com reports.

Advice: The Mets will likely re-evaluate Senga on Thursday and Friday, but if he feels fine physically coming out of his latest bullpen session, expect him to gain clearance to face hitters. Senga has been on the injured list all season, first because of a right posterior shoulder capsule strain before he experienced right triceps inflammation in late May. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:47 pm

    • Carlos Santana homers, gets three hits in loss
Carlos Santana went 3-for-5 with a homer in a loss to the Rays on Thursday in extra-innings.

Advice: Santana’s homer made it 6-3 in the ninth, and Minnesota scored three more runs to take the game into extras before falling. The 38-year-old has gone deep 12 times, and while he hasn’t helped much in the average category (.247), he’s been a solid power-producer; particularly since scuffling over the first three weeks. • Will Brennan homers twice in win over Mariners
Will Brennan homered twice while going 3-for-4 in a 6-3 win for the Guardians over the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: Brennan now has eight homers on the season. The first tied the game at 2-2 in the second inning off Luis Castillo, and he extended Cleveland’s lead to 6-3 with his blast off Trent Thornton. The 26-year-old’s platoon role makes it hard to justify him as a fantasy option, but he’s a sneaky-good daily play when he is on the field against righties. Rotoworld Thursday, 12:40 pm

    • Logan Allen produces Quality Start against Mariners
Logan Allen gave up three runs in six innings against the Mariners on Thursday while being credited with the victory.

Advice: Allen was far from dominant, as he walked four and struck out only two. He was still able to hold the Seattle offense (mostly) in check, particularly after giving up a two-run homer to Dylan Moore in the first. The 25-year-old’s ERA is inflated by two horrible outings in May, and he’s pitched much better than the 5.23 ERA he currently carries. If the rotation stays the same, Allen will face the Orioles on Thursday. Rotoworld Thursday, 12:39 pm

    • Charlie Blackmon remains out of the Rockies lineup
Charlie Blackmon (hamstring) is not in the Rockies’ lineup on Thursday against the Dodgers.

Advice: It’s unfortunate timing for Blackmon, who was hitting over .300 over his last two weeks but now finds himself battling an injury during a week in which the Rockies will play all their games at home. For fantasy managers who picked Blackmon up, it’s OK to move on from him in shallower formats since it’s not a given he returns on Friday. Elehuris Montero will DH and hit fifth on Thursday. • Tallies three hits Wednesday
Volpe went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs Wednesday in an extra-inning loss to Baltimore.

Advice: Volpe set the table well out of the leadoff spot, reaching base four times and notching his sixth effort of at least three hits this season. The second-year shortstop came up with a clutch hit in the ninth inning, doubling to left field and later coming home to score the game-tying run on a Giancarlo Stanton single. Volpe had been struggling coming into Wednesday, going 3-for-23 with seven strikeouts over his previous five contests. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:35 am

    • Good to go for Saturday's start
The Marlins list Luzardo (back) as their probable pitcher for Saturday's game against the Mariners, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Luzardo pitched with some back stiffness in his last outing in Sunday's loss to the Nationals, getting pulled after five innings and 77 pitches while displaying decreased velocity. He's evidently bounced back fine, though, and appears good to go this weekend for a matchup against Seattle at home. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:57 am

    • Missing second straight start
Blackmon (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Dodgers, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: He'll stay on the bench for a second straight game while he manages a tight right hamstring. Blackmon's absence clears the way for Jake Cave and Elehuris Montero to pick up another start in right field and at designated hitter, respectively. The Rockies are expecting Blackmon to avoid a stint on the injured list, though the team could change its tune if he isn't ready to go for Friday's series opener versus the Nationals. • Records 10th save
Hader allowed one hit in a scoreless inning while striking out one batter to earn a save against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: It was a relatively easy outing for Hader, who entered in the ninth with Houston ahead by three runs. The veteran closer allowed a one-out single but was never in serious trouble. Hader has converted all 10 of his save chances since blowing his first opportunity of the campaign April 2 versus Toronto. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:57 pm
