    • Generates another quality start
Kirby didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk over six-plus innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Kirby posted a sixth straight quality start and left the contest having allowed just one run. However, he left a pair of runners on the basepaths, both of which came in to score on a George Springer home run to finalize Kirby's earned run total at three. Kirby is tied for the 10th most quality starts in baseball and ranks top-10 in innings pitched with 111.2. He owns a 3.39 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP along with an outstanding 109:11 K:BB on the year. He's scheduled to face the Angels next weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 12:51 am

    • Records three hits Sunday
Urshela went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Urshela notched his first three-hit effort since June 11 as he helped lead the Tigers to victory. The veteran infielder is batting .249 for the season, which is a step back after he hit .299 for the Angels during an injury-shortened 2023 campaign. Urshela still has time to pick his average up, however, and he should stick in an everyday role as long as he's healthy, so his fantasy stock could increase down the stretch. • George Kirby posts quality start in no-decision
George Kirby logged a quality start in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon, giving up three runs on seven hits over his six-plus frames.

Advice: The right-hander racked up eight strikeouts on the day while allowing only one base on balls. The Jays scratched out a run against him in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Alejandro Kirk. Kirby then allowed a pair of singles to start the seventh inning before turning the ball over to the bullpen — and both runs ultimately scored. The 26-year-old hurler got 16 swings and misses on 93 pitches in the contest — 10 of those on his heater — while posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll look to finish his first half strong as he brings a 3.39 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and a 109/11 K/BB ratio (111 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Angels in Los Angeles. • Eugenio Suárez homers, drives in five in victory
Eugenio Suárez finished 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and a three-run double in leading the Diamondbacks to a 9-1 drubbing of the Padres on Sunday.

Advice: The homer was his just 350 feet and would have left only five of the 30 ballparks, but Suárez deserves some good fortune. He had one more RBI today than in his previous 20 starts combined, and it was just his second game this year with at least three runs driven in. He’s batting .210/.298/.339 overall. • Gets walked off Sunday
Hader (3-5) took the loss Sunday against the Twins, allowing a solo home run without recording an out.

Advice: Hader entered with the game tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth. He served up a solo shot to Christian Vazquez, which gave the Twins the walk-off win. This is the fourth time in six outings that Hader has given up a run -- all of which have been on homers -- though he hasn't taken a blown save since April 2. He's at a 4.15 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 61:11 K:BB through 39 innings while converting 15 of 16 save chances this season. Since his missteps have rarely resulted in trouble so far, Hader's security as the Astros' closer remains high, but his recent struggles with the long ball are reminiscent of his awful second half of 2022, which is at least worth keeping an eye on for fantasy purposes. • Josh Hader blows save, takes 5th loss of season
Josh Hader allowed one run on one hit without recording an out in a loss to the Twins on Sunday.

Advice: Hader was brought into a tie game and allowed a game-winning home run to Christian Vazquez. Hader now has a 4.15 ERA to go along with 15 saves on the season. It’s unlikely that Houston will give him competition for the closer’s role, but it hasn’t been a great first season in Houston for the left-hander who now has two blown saves and five losses on the year. • Serving as DH on Sunday
Greene is serving as the designated hitter and batting fourth in Sunday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Greene will get a day off from playing the outfield, though the Tigers are keeping his hot bat in the lineup. Over his last 10 games, the 23-year-old has a .962 OPS. For the season, Greene has an .863 OPS and 17 home runs, making him a strong fantasy asset thus far. The young star is just starting to tap into his potential and has a ton of upside the rest of the year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:55 am

    • Sent out to Triple-A
The Guardians optioned Allen to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Advice: Allen is the second member of the Guardians' Opening Day rotation to be sent to Columbus within a week, as Triston McKenzie was previously dispatched to the minors last Sunday. Though he's stayed healthy all season, Allen has struggled mightily to build on a solid 2023 rookie campaign, as he's turned in a 5.67 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 76:35 K:BB across 87.1 innings through 18 starts. He'll cede his spot on the 26-man active roster to newly acquired right-hander Spencer Howard, who could end up entering the rotation the next time Allen's turn comes up Thursday in Detroit. • Guardians option Logan Allen to Triple-A
Guardians optioned LHP Logan Allen to Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Allen is removed from the active roster with Spencer Howard coming to join the team after he was acquired in trade. Allen will likely be back up after the All-Star break, but his shaky pitching results (5.67 ERA) puts his rotation spot in a precarious position. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:51 am
